Graf von Wiser Trail

The Graf von Wiser Weg is a local hiking trail of the Schwarzwaldverein Karlsruhe. It begins in Karlsruhe at Durlacher Tor and ends at Karl Knierer Weg on the boundary with Graben-Neudorf. The southern section is maintained by the Karlsruhe Black Forest Association, while the northern section is maintained by the Karlsruhe-Neureut Black Forest Association. The path is flat and has no hills. It is partly tarmac, partly gravelled and partly a natural dirt track. It is at its most beautiful in spring, when the grass on the path is tall and not yet mown. But it is also attractive in winter, because then you can see deeper into the forest. However, forest dieback is also a problem for this path, as dead trees often break off in the wind and can fall onto the path. The more the forest dieback progresses, the more dangerous it becomes in the forest. The markings are now very patchy in the northern section, so it is advisable to load the GPS track onto your sat nav.
