Beautiful circular route in the Black Forest Centre/North Nature Park.
A beautiful circular hike organised by the Dürrenmettstetten hiking club, which starts at the viewing tower in Dürrenmettstetten. There is also a car park here. The route leads to Kaltenhof and downhill into Glatttal. Halfway up, however, a hiking trail leads through shady mixed forest past Hopfau and Glatt before returning to Dürrenmettstetten via Priorberg. The hike is very well signposted and follows well-surfaced paths.
In Glatt there are places to stop for refreshments and the moated castle, which is definitely worth a visit. It is the oldest Renaissance castle in southern Germany and is one of the few preserved moated castles in the region.
