Rock path in Ottenhöfen

This diverse route leads through the wildly romantic landscape of the Northern Black Forest around the "mill village" of Ottenhöfen. The path explores striking rock formations, following a challenging mixture of narrow natural trails, steep rock stairways, and root-covered forest paths. A central highlight is the bizarre rock structures such as the Karlsruher Grat (nearby) and the Edelfrauengrab waterfalls, which plunge spectacularly through the ravine. In the dense fir and spruce forests and on the damp rock faces, fire salamanders, peregrine falcons, and various moss species can be brilliantly observed, while the high plateaus offer expansive views over the Acher Valley. Due to its alpine character and elevation gain, the route requires good physical condition and absolute surefootedness.
