Bad Mergentheim Zoo

This family-friendly route leads through one of the most species-rich wildlife parks in Europe, situated on a hill above the spa town of Bad Mergentheim. The trail opens up the extensive, naturally landscaped grounds and runs almost exclusively on well-surfaced forest and park paths, which are also suitable for pushchairs. A central highlight is the huge wolf enclosure, where one of the largest wolf packs in Europe lives in a natural social structure. In the spacious enclosures, brown bears, lynxes, otters and majestic birds of prey can be observed during flight demonstrations, while the walk-in petting zoos allow direct contact with native farm animals. The route is a relaxed nature experience that combines education and recreation in the typical hilly landscape of the Tauber Valley.
