This route is characterised by impressive distant views towards Sulgen and across the Black Forest, and is one of the Black Forest pleasure trails. It takes its name from the large population of capercaillie that still existed in this area at the beginning of the 20th century. The eponymous capercaillie trail begins just below the Remsbach hiking car park. The trail leads along idyllic meadow paths, winding forests and narrow paths. It goes uphill twice and steeply downhill once. The path is well marked.
