Albtäler-Radweg Etappe 1: Amstetten - Herbrechtingen

This route follows the first stage of the Albtal Cycle Route and connects Amstetten with Herbrechtingen in Germany. From the starting point in Amstetten, the cycle route heads south to the source of the Lone in Urspring and follows the Lone Valley through the Swabian Alb. The route passes prehistoric sites such as the Vogelherd Cave and the Hohlenstein Caves, and winds its way through the Eselsburg Valley with its bizarre rock formations on to Herbrechtingen. Wild camping is strictly prohibited; overnight stays are in guesthouses, hotels or at campsites in the local towns. Drinking water can be topped up in the villages. Both stage locations are accessible by Deutsche Bahn (https://www.bahn.de). The Albtäler Cycle Route is a 186 km (116 miles) circular cycle route through the valleys of the Swabian Alb, which is usually completed in 4 stages.
