Best trails near Hutberg

No, we're not talking about the icy north here. This route leads to the Czech North Cape, the northernmost point of the Czech Republic in Saxon Switzerland, more precisely in the Schluckenauer Zipfel. Here, the sandstone of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains has already merged with the granite rocks of Upper Lusatia.

Accessible by train and bus

Scenic snowshoe hike in Saxony, Germany. From the car park, the trail leads over the railway tracks and into the forest on Davidsberg. Along Linzberg and Goldberg and past the old quarry, the trail heads south past Steinigtwolmsdorf and the German-Czech border. Continue through the forest to Prinz-Friedrich-August-Höhe. Here you can take a well-earned break and stop off at the mountain inn before setting off on the return journey.

A beautiful day hike awaits you here, starting from the village of Steinigttwolmsdorf in the Eastern Ore Mountains. From the village it goes up to the German-Czech border. The border trail here is also the Upper Lusatian mountain hiking trail. The southernmost point of the district of Bautzen is reached at boundary stone 17/23 .
