The route leads through the Baerler Busch, around the Loheider See and up to the Rheinpreußen spoil tip. From there, you can either follow the suggested route or take a different route back down to the Waldsee. A short but technically demanding trail along the shore of the Waldsee awaits you there. The route is a good mix of shorter trails, forest motorways and a climb up the slag heap with a great view of the lakes and over the Ruhr region.

This hike begins in the neighbourhood of Baerl. It leads through the Baerler Busch and then makes a loop around the Lohheidsee and finally reaches Orsoyerberg and Orsoy. As the hike continues, you pass the Rheinaue Binsheim nature reserve. The hike ends on the towpath along the Rhine.
