Family-friendly and scenic hiking and running tour in Halde near Moers, North Rhine-Westphalia. You start at the car park by the Waldsee lake, but you can also get there easily by public transport. The route leads through the Baerler Busch, around the Loheider See and up to the Rheinpreußen spoil tip. From there, you can either follow the suggested route or take a different route back down to the Waldsee. A short but technically demanding trail along the shore of the Waldsee awaits you there. The route is a good mix of shorter trails, forest motorways and a climb up the slag heap with a great view of the lakes and over the Ruhr region.

This hike begins in the neighbourhood of Baerl. It leads through the Baerler Busch and then makes a loop around the Lohheidsee and finally reaches Orsoyerberg and Orsoy. As the hike continues, you pass the Rheinaue Binsheim nature reserve. The hike ends on the towpath along the Rhine.
