Best trails near Sängerhäuschen

This is a very scenic hike that begins with an ascent to two viewpoints with marvellous views of Pottenstein. You follow the Elisabeth Trail to the Himmelsleiter observation tower. From there, follow a path along a cornfield down the hill to Schöngrundsee lake. Take the access path on the north side of the lake, which leads directly to the Devil's Cave. A 45-minute tour through the cave costs 5 euros.

This is the second part of the circular hike from Pottenstein to Teufelshohle (1) and back (2). After leaving Teufelshöhle, take the path that leads to Entenstein and then walk down the hill and along Jägerstieg 1 back to the other side. This path leads past some very interesting rock formations and to a viewpoint. From there, you make your way to Elbersberg, where you take the Way of St James back to Pottenstein.
