Best historic site trails in Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park

Although the Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park is the smallest of the three Wadden Sea national parks, it has the largest proportion of wilderness at 90 per cent. It is embedded in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, the open sea and the Elbe fairway. In the south, it borders the coast of Lower Saxony near Cuxhaven. The islands of Neuwerk, Scharhörn and Nigehörn are also part of the national park. These are home to a large proportion of the plant species. Of the approximately 1,000 species in the Wadden Sea, 475 fern and flowering plant species have been recorded on the Hamburg islands alone.
