Best paved trails in Westhavelland Nature Park

Cycle tour in the Westhavelland Nature Park, Brandenburg. This relatively long route starts in Strodehne close to the Havel and leads along well-maintained roads via Hohennauen to Rathenow and Premnitz. From there, the route runs in somewhat quieter surroundings, along beautiful avenues with wide fields, through many of the smaller towns and villages in the area, and finally back in a wide arc. Varied hiking trail in Westhavelland, Brandenburg In the middle of the Westhavelland Nature Park lies the Beetzsee, which is ideal for a long day hike in fine weather. There are refreshment stops along the way. North of Brandenburg an der Havel, the route leads through forests and meadows, past the Hasselberg and repeatedly along the lakeshore with its lush flora and fauna.

To the west of Berlin, within the Havel bend, lies the Havelländisches Luch lowland area. This area was drained between 1718 and 1724 under Frederick William I and converted into meadows and farmland. Storks, cranes, herons and great bustards can be observed here. Especially at migration time, when the birds fly south, thousands pass through the area.
