This spectacular ridge hike to the summit of the Schellschlicht is an intense, high-alpine challenge that requires absolute surefootedness, a head for heights and exceptional fitness. The route follows an exposed and often eroded path along the ridge, which is protected in steep areas by secured sections of wire rope. Hikers climb over 1,300 metres in altitude to the summit of the Schellschlicht in the Ammergau Alps. This is a solitary, challenging tour.
