The Augsburg - Western Forests Nature Park is Central Swabia's only nature park. This popular excursion destination lies just outside Augsburg and is only an hour away from Munich.

There are three landscape areas in the nature park: the "Stauden" in the south, the "Holzwinkel" in the north and the "Reischenau" in the centre. The nature information centre, the Nature Park House, is located in the south-west of Augsburg. There are puzzles, a crawling tube, films, the permanent exhibition "Nature and Man in the Nature Park" and much more on the topics of forests, animals and plants, climate change and neobiota. The Nature Park House is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00; it is closed in January and February.
