Best rock climbing trails in Königstein

Historical walk to Königstein Fortress, Saxony. Königstein Fortress is one of the largest mountain fortresses in Europe and is located in the centre of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on the table mountain of the same name. From here, there is an excellent view of the town of Königstein at the foot of the mountain, the River Elbe and the surrounding district of Saxon Switzerland. There is an entrance fee to visit the fortress.

This hike starts in Leupoldishain and explores the area south of the town. It visits various points of interest. It finally reaches the rock labyrinth, which is an an area of towering sandstone pillars and crevices. You can easily spend 30 minutes to an hour exploring it.
