Best long trails in Montabaur

The Köppel is one of the central peaks of the Montabaurer Höhe and is best known for the observation tower built in 1966. From the Köppel tower, you can see the entire Westerwald and the Eifel with the Hohe Acht. You can also see the Hochsimmer and the Krufter Ofen on Lake Laach. Near Andernach, you can see the Rhine disappearing between the mountains and recognise the profile of the Siebengebirge.
