Best child-friendly trails in Wülfrath

This is a regional favourite for a leisurely walk with the whole family. Beautiful rock formations, very picturesque woodland paths and, of course, the Schlupkothen – renowned for its clear blue water – ensure plenty of variety. The lake, which was used as a quarry until 1960, and its steep rock faces are under strict nature conservation – if you keep your eyes peeled, you can spot some rare animals, plants and bird species here. Dogs must be kept on a lead within the nature reserve.

Annual running event in Wülrath. The route of the Schweinelauf starts at the sports field in Wülfrath Düssel and leads through the historic centre of the picturesque village along the Niederbergbahn panoramic cycle path. The route leads back around the Bochumer Bruch along fields. The short route is barrier-free.
