Best backpacking trails in Müden

This route is the 9th stage of the Heidschnuckenweg, a long-distance hiking trail through Lower Saxony. This particular section begins in Müden (Örtze) and ends in Faßberg. The trail leads past the historic watermill on Lake Heidesee into an unspoilt floodplain forest along the River Örtze. Walkers follow narrow paths along steep sandy banks, which provide a habitat for kingfishers and otters, before the route reaches the air force town of Faßberg with its extensive green spaces....
