Best bike touring trails in Ostheim vor der Rhön

From Urspringen (fire station) on cycle path via Sondheim, Nordheim, Fladungen, Oberfladungen to Melpers. From here on a gravelled path, or column path of the former GDR border. The rest of the way to Ellenbogen (Eisenacher Haus) is on a tarmac road. From Ellenbogen, take the Hochrhöner hiking trail via Frankenheim to the Dreiländereck. This circular tour leads through quiet valleys in the Rhön-Grabfeld district and runs along parts of the Rhön Beer Cycle Route. Route conditions: mostly tarmac field and cycle paths or quiet side roads. Signposting: all the way with the usual signs (green cycle symbol on a white background). Start and direction can be chosen at will. Refreshments available in almost all towns along the route.
