Popular circular hiking trail in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, Baden-Württemberg. This is a beautiful hike through the Hornwald forest to the ruins of the Hochburg castle near Emmendingen. The Hochburg is one of the two largest castles in Baden - only Heidelberg Castle is larger. If travelling by public transport, we recommend starting the hike from Kollmarsreute station. Highlights of the hike: - Hochburg (11th century) - Hornwald forest - Stop off at the Bergmattenhof (optional)
