Best lake trails in Schwetzingen

This idyllic cultural and historical walk takes you through the palace grounds and around Schwetzingen Palace. The former medieval moated castle was converted into the summer residence of the Palatinate Electors in the 18th century. It was during this period that the picturesque, unique palace gardens were created, which delight visitors with their sculptures, enchanting flora and distinctive architecture. There is an admission charge to visit the palace grounds.

Start at the Schwetzingen stop. The first leads around the Schwetzingen garden. After Ketsch, the route heads north and reaches the Schwetzinger Wiesen-Edinger Ried and finally the Backofen-Riedwiesen. The route ends at Mannheim-Rheinau railway station.
