Amazing hike along the Caldera of one of the largest crater's in the world. The trail well kept and exposed in the sun, so bring plenty of sunscreen and water.

Wow what a beautiful hike! I hiked this in December 2019. You must go with a guided group. I am someone who does not like group tours but I actually really enjoyed this one. The tour takes all day and you go at a leisurely pace so I think anyone can do it. Be prepared for the weather to change abruptly - in some areas the sun is beating down on you and in others there is a misty rain. We were lucky enough to see the volcanic crater from the top as the sun was shining but rain came in very quickly. You cannot miss this hike when visiting the island!

The trail is paved. It’s a decent walk, so o would recommend not wearing flip flops. Shade is limited and it gets hot! There is a gazebo along the trail to take a break and there are facilities at the entrance to the trail. The trail ends at the beach where you can turn right and walk down to a where the marine iguanas hang out, if you go a little further there is a bay where you can take a swim. If you are lucky you may also see a blue footed booby on the rocks along the side of the bay. This trail can get busy and hot so I recommend going first thing in the morning.

the walk to the beach was hot, we went mid day. the best time to go would be as soon as the park opens the trail in the morning. the beach is beautiful, there are nice waves to go surfing. and there is a lagoon that you can go swimming in. you get to see Marine iguanas swimming and relaxing on the beach.

you see alot of frigate birds and some sea lions. there were blue footed boobies and land iguanas as well. we went in the middle of the day, the sun was hot

Nice and easy trail. Can’t be done without a National Park guide. Make sure you hire somebody from a local agency or do it upon arrival.

I forgot to start recording until part way up. It was cloudy at the bottom, but when we summited, we had perfect views of all the volcanoes around us. The summit was covered in ash and we could see the lava flow from the 2018 eruption. Excellent hike!

Quite flat with the exception of a small peak / look out area at the very end, at the wall of tears. Saw two re-introduced turtles on the way!

Not hard, just very long (10 miles, my phone died mid-recording). We did the upper trail that stays on the rim to the recent lava flow with Sebastian from Isatourex (booked through Paddle to the Penguins) and he was an awesome guide that kept a very quick and consistent pace. The first few miles of this trail is a very boring dirt road, otherwise it’s beautiful and worthwhile. You must go with a tour/guide. Bring 2L of water, snacks, and all your best sun protection!
