Hiking

According to locals and TripAdvisor, impossible to get to from the side of the river shown on the map due to a damaged suspension bridge. You can however get to it from the other side, from highway 28. Nice marked trail, just a bit steep.

Pretty though hike but worth it with the 360 views from the top. Felt like 2 hours of climbing stairs. 2 litres of water per person recommended as a minimum. Unless you wanna slip and fall a lot on the way down shoes with good traction necessary. I did not have good shoes and was sliding down the trail at times.

Ohhh how El Mogote humbled me!! The hike is not for beginners. The start is pretty easy. After about 1.5 km ,though, it’s pretty steep all the way to the top (steep is not an understatement here so be prepared). The terrain changes to some rock scrambling then gets slippery about 1km up to the summit. Combine slippery with steep and your using your entire body to keep you in check. Once at the summit... you have the most epic of views. I’ll be camping out there next time for sure.

Nice hike and cool views from the top but there was so much trash all along the trail. All the way to the top. It’s actually heart breaking how folks trash this place. I did what I could and picked up as much as possible while on my way back down but it want enough. There were spots where full trash bags were tossed aside. WTAF!?

Enjoyed the trail but it got quiet hard at the end of the trail as it got very steep. The view at the top was amazing and loved the forest you walk through to get to it. Highly recommend.

(It is a route with 25% (approximately 2km) of the path within a very humid forest and with significant inclination ... the other 75% is relatively simple. For older people and very young children it is not convenient. In our case we did it in only one way starting at the Casabito station, this route is convenient because it starts at the stage of greater inclination and softens during the journey.)

the view is worth the hike but men I did some heavy climbing in the military but this one was very intensive. we packt some good bags what was making it heavier of course. but it only took us 1:45 to reach the top. so with just a bottle of water you will made it easily at the route there where lots of shoe parts so get good boots on. there also an old men at the top maybe you can bring him some food some part are very steep en slippery. good experience though.

This trail was naturally challenging- but because it was overgrown and not very clear most of the way, it was even harder to navigate. The signage is not good at all (appreciated having the All Trails app). The park guards were great and very helpful!
