First part is fairly easy and partly over roads. Do not miss Trafalgar falls which is just a short detour from the path. After the village of Laudat you turn right towards Middleham falls. After middleham falls the trail goes mainly flat to pretty wet forests with a few short but steep climbs and descents.

A short but very rewarding little hike. The original trail has washed out due to Tropical Storm Erica. Now it is just a matter offollowing the river bed and wade through some pools and climb over large boulders. Do not try this hike with heavy rains!

Best hike I did on Dominica. The start is at the visitor centre at Freshwater lake. The trail is sometimes steep and slippery so be carefull. It goes through some fabulous forests and offers some outstanding views. If you have time and energy left you can extend the walk to Boeri lake ( around 2 hours extra)

This section is rather long but the terrain is really nice and diverse. A nighlight is of course the emerald pool. This is the most popular site on Dominica and on a cruiseship day it can be really crowded. I was lucky; I had to place to myself. We ended the trail in Castle bruce but officially the trail ends a few km down the road to the north.

A well marked trail, mainly torugh the tropical rainforest but also passing a few villages. The trail has one main difficulty; the descent to and ascent from the river Clair near the end is very steep and extremely muddy. The brige over the river clair has collapsed during tropical storm Erika and was not repaired in December 2016.

Completed this section in December 2016. There was still a warning sign at the start of the hike that stated that the section was closed because of a landslade however a new route was already made around the landslide. This new route is VERY steep and slippery but ropes are put up for support. For the rest no problems. route is well marked. It takes around 3 hours.

Should you find yourself at the southern tip of this isolated island, you must climb out to the end of Scott's Head. It is really the only thing here! This is a quick outing, with most of the road/path up to the top only modarately steep. Gorgeous views!

Not much of a hike, but great to just explore and enjoy the jungle!
