Length: 10.1 mi • Est. 4 h 5 m
Trail in spectacular forested area going from Vejle to Jelling, or the other way around (the trail in the opposite direction is also on AllTrails). There's a train connection between the two towns if you need to get back. The trail follows Grejsdalen, which is one of Denmark's deepest and most stunning valleys. After Grejsdalen you'll pass Brandbjerg Sønderskov. This is an untouched forest for over 20 years, resulting in a wide variety of vegetation and the terrain becomes more hilly with some steeper climbs. The route is well-marked with orange pictograms.Show more

This trail follows the red signs, although the signs are not always clear. The trail passes the animal garden, an old forest where you can find two different deer species: the sika and fallow deer. Between the lakes and Bybaekvej is a beech forest. It was planted in 1710. Near Bybaek Runddel the trip passes a fishing house and island in the ocean. Along the Hunters path there are flowers that only grow in a hot and humid places. 2 burial mounds from the Bronze age near Bybaekvej can be seen as two smaller rises in the terrain. The Erteboelle People lived in Vejle Fjord for about 7000 years ago and lived on what the ocean offered, like mussels, fish, whales and some the sea birds.Show more

A demanding trail starting from the carpark on Østengårdvej or Knabberupvej. The path passes through woodland and past hedgerows, alder swamp and springs which used to provide water to Slelde fish farm. The first stage of the route consists of an abrupt climb up to an excellent viewpoint with views of Vejle Valley, Kongens Kær and Ravning from a watchtower. The route continues along lanes and paths down through a residential area. Most of the year the path is wet or damp in several places and robust footwear is recommended. Show more
