Just south of Århus, next to the coast, lies Marselis Forests with this challenging mountain bike trail. There's quite a lot of hills in the area, offering some nice climbs and descents. Largely singletracks and some nice bends.Show more

Walk along the beach into Aarhus past a few historical sites, past harbors and enjoy real Danish delights on this trail. The trail starts at a bus stop and brings you back into the city center of Aarhus. First enjoy the views of the Mols National Park and the new harbor city under construction right beneath you. You can detour through an up-scale suburb for "a Danish" at a bakery. Next you walk on the trails through the Risskov Forest slopes with beech trees and bay views. Visit the old bathing establishment and "the Vikings." Then it can be time for your daily exercises in the free outdoor workout park before you descend to the harbor with its wooden ships. Next stop are the fishmongers where Scandinavian cold-water fish are on display. This is your chance to buy delicious fish cakes. Take them with you and step around the building to the wooden benches on the little land strip with view of the yacht harbor. Show more

In the middle of Aarhus, next to the Bay of Aarhus, you find Riis Forest, a bospark that makes you feel like you're miles out of the city. Riis Forest has been a nature recreation area for the people of Aarhus for centuries, and you will still see evidence of this in the forest today, like the dancing pavilion (now a hostel) or the public sea-bath. The forest floor is covered with ramsons during spring.Show more

For the largest part Lisbjerg Forest is an old forest. Only a few places have been planted in the last hundred years, the rest is centuries old. The core of the old part of the forest exists of beech, ash and honor. Foxes, squirrels, deer and pheasants live in the forest. A panorama walk in a rainbow, the live experience of people and a town from the time of Hans Christian Andersen, a crucifix with a "Viking Christ," Danish modernist buildings, and the beauty of the bay and woods around the Royal Palace Marselisborg. The density of attractions is very high in Aarhus - there is lots to do here. Nonetheless many say that the real attraction of Aarhus is the people. Aarhus is also called the City of Smiles-10% of these smiles belong to university students, as Aarhus is a lively university city.Show more
