Getting to the trail was a journey! The trail is marked very well and parking lot was large enough with a big sign at the entrance. No restrooms at the parking lot but there is one by the observation tower. Very beautiful views. I went on a cold and windy day so I didn’t spend as much time on top

Well-maintained, easy to follow. Not secluded (comes across trailer park along the way), but some wildlife and nice views.

Nice paved trail. Lots of people out enjoying the nice weather. The river was dirty and full of trash.

The overlook is the big payoff but the full stone fort loop is well worth it, especially if you’re into the history. There are extensive remains of a large stone fort and some pretty decent views east and west. The ascent is steep for a short stretch but the trail is in excellent condition. Far fewer people up here.

Be aware that the bridge at the beginning of the hike is closed due to train derailment last week.

Found this trail by accident while looking for Lake Quigley, which by the way, doesn't exist. This trail it's well marked. very decent incline, which makes for a awesome workout. The split rock overlook is well worth the hike. views are stunning. Hike back is hard on the knees, wearing a grave on both knees helps.

Nice bit of history. Trail was overgrown in many spots.

Great hike!

Great trail. Not the most scenic but quite enjoyable on a rare 70 degree day in January. Some trees down but climbing over and through them brought the kid out of me. Saw a few gorgeous deer. The overlook was a nice relaxing place to rest a few. I see many complaints about it but in mid Winter it had a great view.

The trails were amazing and easy to follow. I ended up hiking a total of 12 miles and it was perfect weather for it. One of the trails was blocked off because of a train derailment which lead to damage to the foot bridge. All in all it was a really diverse area to hike through with enough trails in the immediate area to spend a week or more hiking through. Bring lots of water and food with you; it's not the easiest hike (about 7 miles round trip) with long stretches of incline terrain. The park rangers were super knowledgeable and friendly. I'll be going back soon!

North face trail in bad shape: lots of downed trees. Great hiking though.

Fantastic hike! Great view of one of the smaller falls. It was quite muddy in areas when we went but manageable. A very cold 28°F day still made for a comfortable hike once in the trees and out of the wind. I highly recommend it, but don't expect big views, just peaceful forest hiking with lovely rock formations and occasional wildlife sitings, mostly gentle elevation changes.

Paved trail with a few spots where it’s somewhat uneven. There are nature trail labels along the way for different trees and shrubs. The trail goes through Meredith Tunnel, which has lighting throughout so it’s not AS creepy as it could be. I think this is a great trail for everyday physical activity.

Took the trail on December 18th. Outstanding experience. Great view and an out of this planet feeling. Please note: The trail is easily marked... in the beginning. Once you get deeper into it, you are on your own and it’s worth it, in my opinion. But do have a way to track your position. IMPORTANT: On the first “spilt”, not knowing what way to go, I took the “right” option and please do the same. It will take you to an OVERLOOK next to a waterfall. IF YOU HAVE KIDS OR DOGS WITH YOU, this path will give you an easier access to the bank of the river. Using the app and trying to get back on track, I found a local hiker who advised me, that the app’s trail will take me to a ladder. Yes. it looks like a construction ladder about 10 steps high. So please, if you have kids or dogs with you that would be a dangerous spot to hike down. Once down.... let your self go and enjoy. You can hike back up the ladder or walk around the walls and get access around the OVERLOOK as above noted. Expect about 2.5 hours and also, I would suggest a Winter dry day as the water level is at its lowest, so all the massive boulders are exposed.
