I take my 2yo son here on almost a weekly basis and he loves it! We’ve seen porcupines, moose, badger, coyotes, deer, elk, and a huge variety of birds and plants! One day I counted 36 different species of birds in less than 1 hr in this area. I love it here.

Easy. Beautiful vistas. Can’t wait to go back with the kids for a fun drive. Not hard and not technical.

This drive was gorgeous! Even on a fairly foggy day, it was wild to see the mountain tops peek out through the mist. We saw a few deer along the way. Once at the summit there is a campground and several trails. Did the easy Rain Shadow loop with some breathtaking views and alpine scenery, and went along the Deer Park Trail for about a mile towards Slab Camp that was very narrow with a freaky drop off to one side. Both home to the tiniest chipmunks I’d ever seen! Unfortunately we did encounter one person with a dog, and someone else had left a couple of poo bags just sitting along the trail. No pets allowed folks! Will definitely return to camp and hike further.

This is not a trail. It is a road. Lots of unsafe drivers out there too, so be careful!

Lots of wildlife- marmots, bear, deer, chipmunks. Pretty difficult trail though- would rate it as hard. Amazing views. Definitely recommend

Very nice scenic drive! you can probably do this in a 2WD, just go slow cuz there are lots of blind corners. Spectacular views at the top!

my husband and I do this trail during the week,we get in at least three hikes a week here. Fun, friendly trail with polite hiker's in pacing and a fun work out.

Drive slowly and enjoy the fantastic scenery, road in perfect condition-wide, not a two track, and grated. Occasional narrows but there a pull outs. Great hike at the end, pit toilets. Any vehicle with 4 wheels or dirt bike could travel this road. We saw a couple of mountain bikers but they didn't look too happy.

Nice little walk within the city. The gardens near the observatory is nice to see. The elevation is pretty stable. If you’re looking for a nice stroll and great view of the city, come through. Don’t forget to visit the tower as well.

I love this park. I’m so grateful that Seattle has small little pockets like Volunteer Park to make us feel like we aren’t in a big city. At least for a moment. If the conservatory is open I couldn’t recommend more to take a stroll through it. The plants are absolutely stunning. And what environment can you go from the most tropical plants to the dry spikey plants of the desert? Truly heaven.

it's a highway not a trail...if all trails had "all pavement" then it would fit.

Great little butt Kicker hike with your 30lb boy on your back!!

This trail is a rather easy drive. I passed a honda fit on the way up. it can get narrow, and it's not all that steep. the down side to my trip was at the top it was real foggy.

This road was gravel for the first 30 miles then turned more into a dirt road, which was great to hike on. We ended up going from Kendall monument near Dayton to Jubilee Lake which was about 46 miles. There was some snow on the sides of the road near table rock but it was easily passable. There was a ranger at the fire lookout on Table Rock who was very nice. There are plenty of springs along the way to feet water.

not really for hiking.

A small but beautiful park in the center of the city. The water tower is great.
