Excellent trail; all the trail was part of the AT. A little over 7 miles out and back. Some ice, some mud and a lots of rocks but a challenging hike with a great vista reward at the top. Started out sunny and in the 30’s but then the clouds came and the wind picked up so when on the windward side of the mountain it was cold. It was a quite day for a Sunday, only two groups. Fun day, I would highly recommend the hike, not a lot to see until the summit.

Beautiful trail! I took my dog with me during the winter. It was a bit icy on the rocks, but we made it (mostly) to the top and there was an amazing view. Make sure you wear sturdy, reliable boots for the scramble.

Would not recommend in sub-freezing weather. Boulders ice over and get very difficult. Fun hike up the side though

A nice trail, challenging and loaded with elevation changes. I went clockwise and tackled the quite steep climb, Buck Ridge Trail has hundreds and hundreds of stairs without exaggeration. Mary’s Rock has a great place to rest and take in the view. Buck Hollow Trail has some nice (albeit tiny) waterfalls which accompanied me on the way back down.

I followed the Belfast trail all the way to the intersection with Gunthers before I realized that that wasn't the "side trail from the top." Once I realized my mistake, I turned back and went back to the base of the marbleyard before doing the scramble to the top. The side trail down was slick with leaves, but overall it was a nice hike and a good workout.

Did it on January 2nd. After a long dry period cause if the “Marbles” are wet....good luck. This is a must! Amazing view, a nice challenge and some thinking on the rock climbing. Make sure you have proper equipment (at least shoes), because a wrong move will land you on a world of pain and trauma. Can’t tell you how many times we fly in and out to pick up injured people. With that being said, once you enjoy the walk up to the Marbles don’t get fooled. The wall you see is about 20% of what is to be conquered. And go for it! Took the side path on the way down due to time restrains. Once you are on the top it’s easy to see it, but this time of the year it was covered with leaves and it’s very very slippery. It was almost better to take the rocks back down. The view is outstanding and the feeling, once on the top, very rewarding. Plan about 3.5 hours, take your time and enjoy

Did this trail after catching sunrise at buck hollow outlook. Very peaceful, challenging, well maintained.

Great trail to a beautiful lookout. Nice switchbacks, some rocky terrain and beautiful scenery throughout the hike. Pretty easy hike suitable for families.

It’s such a great trail to explore more than just woods. Some parts made me feel like I was in another state. Definitely recommend this beautiful trail. The top got super windy and it was very chilly but we did it in the winter, I recommend going back in the summer!!!

Went south on AT as far as three ridges, camped, and returned the next day. Beautiful camp sites with tremendous view of valley at three ridges, but it was very windy overnight, and probably always is. If you’re carrying a significant pack weight, I recommend trekking poles... they saved me from injury several times. Bring plenty of water as it’s up up up to three ridges, with no reliable water source along the way (I found only one tiny brook).

Nice trail, well marked and easy to follow. Was cloudy and rainy when we went so the views were obscured. Will definitely go back on a clear day.

Pretty easy trail, takes about 20-30 min to get to the top going at an easy pace. It does get pretty rocky though, was a little hard for my older pup I took with me but we made it to the lookout. Didn’t go to the left trail, just to the lookout for sunrise. The views pretty great, just a little off for seeing the actual sunrise but still was pretty and quiet.

Beautiful trail.

The trail was so beautiful! Lots of waterfalls and streams and a great view to start. We were on a ridge and saw mountains on either side of us for the first half. Loved it. Hard start but the rest is quite pleasant.
