I have done this trail many times, doing the entire Silver Island Mountain Loop. Last time was 01/03/20. There was barely a trace of snow on the north side of the mountains and none on the south side. South side usually gets less snowfall than the north. Trail was easy, so I let my 14 year old daughter get a taste of driving. With the exception of a greasy area on the south side, no more than a mile or so, she did all the driving.

I never heard of this trail in the places I looked. My jeep rental company told me about it. I was so glad they did. It was beautiful. The rocks and variety of colors are anazing. Completely snowy so so glad we had our jeep. If you go past the end there is this gorgeous valley at the top that is jaw dropping. The river crossings are fun and pretty without being dangerous at all. Easy trail but I could see where it could get really muddy at times.

Drove this road north to south in the morning while all the mud was still frozen - not sure if it would have been passable once the mud was melted as there are some steep hills and lots of ruts (don't even try it in a sedan). Didn't see another vehicle the whole way. Stopped at Grosvenor Arch and Cottonwood Narrows. Still plenty of ice / snow on northern sections.

beautiful little drive with lots of turnouts to explore trails, and to sight see, was not crowded in January, would take the shuttle in summer

Bryce Canyon NP was amazing! Didn’t have proper footwear for hiking (icy and snowy) but driving around the park was awesome. Definitely coming back soon and seeing some of these trails

New Years Eve is a great day to visit this park. You nearly have it all to yourself.

Walked up from canyon junction to river access on west rim trail past grotto to try for a sunrise shot on angels. Easy going, made good time. Number of deer staring back at me

Wow what an amazing trail! If you're looking for ledges and slickrock you'll need to go elsewhere but the smooth dirt road didn't bother me at all. The are no obstacles of note but when wet the fine dirt becomes very slick mud so watch for that. If you'd like to see my video of the trail copy and paste this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBgO_nRr1-Q

Fun trail. Not too difficult but enough bumps to make it fun. I drove this in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and never needed 4WD.

Arches is the bomb

We had the adventure of a lifetime on this trail in a Jeep. It’s a tight squeeze with hairpin turns to the bottom of the canyon but we’ll worth the white knuckles.

This is our third drive through Arches this year. It's a wonder to see in all seasons. While it was cold, we got some good snow capped views of the La Sal mountains.

Great short drive if you don’t have a lot of time. We squeezed this drive in at the end of the day as the sun set. Beautiful!

This is one of the most unexpected and underrated beautifully scenic trails we drove in Moab. The road itself was easy to follow and the only concern for some may just be that it can be somewhat muddy in places. The biggest challenge we found was wanting to stop every few minutes and take pictures as every turn seemed more unbelievably beautiful than the last. Driving through the streams surrounded by the red rock, incredible mountain formations, open fields along with deer and other livestock were absolutely breathtaking. It was not a challenging trail according to the trail ratings, but by far one of my absolute favorites! We went in the later afternoon and it was a perfect ending to a fantastic weekend jeeping!

This is a great trail with off shoot trails for every level. An awesome offshoot from this trail is Bull Canyon which has an off shoot to day canyon. There are expert runs like metal masher and gold bar rim. I highly recommend going to bull canyon and taking the hike to the bottom of Gemini Bridges before taking the road to the top. Short hike that will take your breath away for sure. Once at the top, park and hike to the bridges. Some great echoes through the canyon with breathtaking views. This was all done in a rental Rubicon with no need to use lockers. Highly recommend this trail as a starter trail for your trip to Moab.
