Great mid week hike, 1st time there and fresh snow was packed an didn’t need spikes.

This trail is absolutely gorgeous. To get the best of your Bryce visit with seeing the hoodoos I highly recommend it. Lots of ups and downs. Just when you think the rest of the trail is down hill, up you go again. Also, I thought I seen the best scenery then even more came to view. We used microspikes, but I did see people without.

Great views at every turn. We started at mill creek trail head but went left on road , through the wash and picked up a trail that ran right into it. Made a loop out of it be connecting to mill creek double track back to trailhead. 6.1 miles. Great for all ages

fun trail. there are lots of side trails that you can wander off and explore.

The review below by Ms. Roach sums it up pretty well. You can scramble up to the arch and above and the scenery right there is pretty spectacular. You will have to look around a bit to figure it out. The trailhead is in a network of dirt roads in an area that is being developed to expand the already spectacular suburban sprawl around St. George. There was a Road Closed sign that I foolishly thought meant I had to park 1 mile from the trailhead (everyone else just drove that mile anyway), so that was a pointless, but not arduous extra mile of walking. The trail is well marked. The signs point to Bone Wash at first, and then to Elephant Arch. Right when you are coming out of the wash on the way to the arch, there is a mini-slot between some rocks to the left that leads you to a spur of Bone Wash which goes quite a ways and is kind of nice. It dead ends in a huge waterfall (dry right now), which you could in theory scramble up around on the right side. Not sure that is a good idea, because of the damage to the soil and the general instability of the sand and rock. Some of the rock just crumbles under your feet.

Packed down for about 2 miles. Was making post holes up higher. A lot more snow than last year. Bring snowshoes!!!! Lots of wild turkeys. If you are a birder, they are all over. Love the animal tracks in the snow too. A great winter work out.

missing the first mile or so on recording. anyways this place was great. definitely reccomend the long way around via peekaboo instead of the general navajo loop. so many pretty sights to stop and see amd many friendly folk along the way! would say moderate is at the least a fair rating.

Awesome winter trail. Little longer than I expected. Just keep on going eventually you will turn left out to the ridge where there are fantastic views of the valley and Wasatch Front. Snowshoed the whole trail, some areas near the top were quite deep and snowshoes would be required.

Hiked this one yesterday on a beautiful sunny day. The first half is a pretty gradual incline and not hard, but the second half gets pretty steep. I'm grateful for all the deer tracks in the snow that plowed a bit of a path for me. The snow on the final ridge was up past my knees so showshoes would have been preferable at that point. Saw a pair of golden eagles soaring at the top and plenty of deer. The 4 star rating applies to winter, I would say 2 or 3 stars in the summer heat.

Packed snow on 1.5.20. Two icy spots where spikes come in handy. Water is not as blue as usually is but the top pools are very warm.

Fun and pretty easy trail. The snow is packed pretty good, parts were down right icy and slippery. I brought Salomon crosstreks and they weren’t enough, so I used spikes and felt like Spider-Man! Definitely wear spikes if you’re looking for the best experience. The rock is somewhat underwhelming but the views are lovely. Very busy trail, lots of fat bikers, dogs, and hikers.

cool dino tracks but don't go past the last sign. the tracks are right next to the last sign in the left

Very mellow hike. Must be moderate for the length, but I would rate this as easy. Beautiful views of different sediments throughout the canyon. I would recommend to anyone with a couple extra hours.

Great trail. We did this on Christmas Day and the road was closed a mile before the trailhead. It is not a difficult hike, we were spikes just to keep our footing better, but they are not mandatory. Many people did not have them. I’m new to Utah and I did not realize that hot springs had a smell to them. Still very fun and we got in at the top.
