I did this trail with my friend. We had a lot of fun chatting as we walked through the woods. We did not see anyone on the same trail as us, so it seemed like we were the only ones there. It is a good trail for having a nice peaceful chat with whoever you go with.

Great trail but it is VERY muddy right now after all the rain we’ve had recently.

Minus: hard to follow, rocky, traffic noise. Plus: parts are secluded within trees, great view of bull creek, nice longer hike

Nice wide main trail. Only saw 2 older gentlemen during my 3+ mile hike. One had a dog on leash. The trail shows evidence that it is also used by bikers and horses, though I didn’t see any of either. There are several spur trails, I only ventured down a couple. The trails are not marked at all, so I couldn’t find how to complete the loop and ended up backtracking my steps to get back to the entrance. But that way I got in a mile over what the loop said it covered! The trail had some wet areas from recent rains, but all were easily passable without getting muddy. Only wildlife that I saw was several kinds of birds and some squirrels. But I’m sure there was more wildlife that saw me. . Nice enjoyable easy hike.

No Shade, but an awesome trail for duck viewing as there are multiple ponds along the route. If you combine the paved portion with the unpaved portion near the playground, you get about 2 miles out of the trail.

Nice trail. Most of the elevation gain is on the right side of the trail, so keep that in mind if looking for more of a challenge. We accidentally went left after crossing the river, so the hike wasn't as challenging, however you come up on the homestead much quicker.

Hiking this trail for 2nd time is much comfortable in cool weather. Hiking during summer is hard your prone to heat exhaustion. I highly recommended to do this hike during cool weather as long as there’s no ice since at the peak climbing to the lighthouse there’s scrambling into the rocks . Otherwise this trail is awesome of course... nice view every step of the way at the end of the trail your rewarded with the 300 foot high Lighthouse formation.

Nice, easy gravel trail. You can start from either HWY 428 or 455. As other reviews have said, south of HWY 428 remains closed. It’s nice and wide so bikers and hikers can share the path. Goes for 4 miles, first mile coming from the north is tree covered, but the other 3 miles has no shade, running along fields with livestock—nice to see while on the trail. There’s an equestrian trail on the east side of the river but it was closed.

Similar to the Savannah Loop trail, but longer. Fairly flat, and a good beginner hike. We also have used it for trail running.

Bike lane cycling on smooth roads. Minimal trees, open land, high traffic, many PokeStops (if you play Pokemon Go) and many restrooms available.

This was an amazing hike. I would rate the first 2.7 miles easy, the very end is steep but for a short short time. It was a great family hike, with lots of dogs and kids on the trail. It took us 3 hours round trip and was a little over 6 miles from the parking lot (the park has it posted at 2.7 one way). Bring lots of water, highly recommend this one!

Moderate trail for moderately interesting. Pros: Great points of interest, good for hiking and for trail running or biking. Cons: Long to be long, hard to immerse yourself into nature due to water plant, houses, roads, and cars. TOO MANY SWITCH BACKS! Decent enough to get out and about for a few hours and enjoy the points of interest. Not at all a bad trail system- but this is better for bikers.

I enjoyed this place! Dog friendly. I tried different trails to see which ways is easier for myself and my friend(s) to walk on the trail. Next time, will try other way. Overall, nice place and free!

Great trail. Never saw another person on a Sunday afternoon. Really cute creek crossing too!

Decent trail. TONS OF UPS AND DOWNS! All of them with very little reward of views and lookouts. Signage a bit confusing. Great workout tho for sure.
