I got some good miles done today. The trail is well paved, and it passes by some different parks along the way. Most of the people that I saw on the trails were bikers. The trail goes under road bridges, and runs along roads at some points. Most of the time it runs along side the creek. Sadly, the creek has a lot of trash littered about the place. I wish the city would try harder to help clean it up.

Pretty good

Not a loop anymore due to water. Had to cross the creek to not have to walk all the way back around.

Could not access, in residential area per google maps, took me to private neighborhood, so I went further down the street and that didn’t work either.

Hiking this trail for 2nd time is much comfortable in cool weather. Hiking during summer is hard your prone to heat exhaustion. I highly recommended to do this hike during cool weather as long as there’s no ice since at the peak climbing to the lighthouse there’s scrambling into the rocks . Otherwise this trail is awesome of course... nice view every step of the way at the end of the trail your rewarded with the 300 foot high Lighthouse formation.

Nice, easy gravel trail. You can start from either HWY 428 or 455. As other reviews have said, south of HWY 428 remains closed. It’s nice and wide so bikers and hikers can share the path. Goes for 4 miles, first mile coming from the north is tree covered, but the other 3 miles has no shade, running along fields with livestock—nice to see while on the trail. There’s an equestrian trail on the east side of the river but it was closed.

This was an amazing hike. I would rate the first 2.7 miles easy, the very end is steep but for a short short time. It was a great family hike, with lots of dogs and kids on the trail. It took us 3 hours round trip and was a little over 6 miles from the parking lot (the park has it posted at 2.7 one way). Bring lots of water, highly recommend this one!

Great trail. Rained the day before but it was sandy mud so not too bad. Incredible cedar forest camps between mile 4 and 5 for an overnight camp. Water was abundant after the rain. We backpacked and couldn’t get a fire started due to the rain with what we gathered.

We loved this hike! It’s an easy hike, although once you get to the end it’s a pretty steep way up (but very quick). The views were beautiful and the trail was well marked. Dog friendly.

Too many cyclists no room to walk

Very easy to navigate. Completed with four kids, 10,9,5,5. Last portion to get to UPPER mines was very steep and full of loose, eroded rock, making it a bit dangerous for the kids. My wife and I held onto the little for that last, steep stretch. They had fun in mines. Bring a flashlight. Otherwise trail was rather nondescript.

Great trail. Although it is marked at times you are a bit unsure so having the app is great. The trail is all dirt and therefore a nice change from walking on concrete. Just lovely. We will be back.

I’m not even sure how you find the trail here. I paid five dollars to get into the park and was unable to find the trail head. The gentleman working the window was not helpful and complained when I asked for my money back. But all I did was literally drive around the park two times before giving up

Wide trail so you have plenty room between people. You can always tell where you need to follow the trail. Amazing views, an amazing trail.

Great day for a long hike.

Excellent but long trail. Very good views of the Franklin Mountains and the mines are a pleasure to explore.

Great day to be out in the Tin Mines in El Paso. Went on a stroll with the meetup group El Paso hiking and Elite hiking from Facebook. Great people, new friends being made and all sharing a purpose. Gotta love it.

Well shaded. Visual insulation from city civilization. Main trail is paved from end to end. Highly recommend.

It was a nice day for a rocky hike. Great company and the trail seemed simple enough that we went and missed the turn on the way out. Fun day.
