Great trail - very well maintained and marked.

What a great place for a winter day walk. We didn’t catch on to the fact it was a drive through trail. But we were really happy because we got to walk a couple miles then turned around to head back out.

Great drive on northern part of parkway. Many nice little trails along the way and it is laid out nicely to create a sense of continuous green space

The main road ends and continues up to the top via gravel where there are several hiking trails ranging from 2 to 8 miles. The logging road is not a bad bike road aside from the occasional washed out areas and the constant flow of cars driving to the top for the hiking trails. Nice fairly easy bike ride, but the ride to the top does have a constant small uphill grade to it. Would recommend for an easy bike ride that will take about an hour or little more up and bike with stopping for sight viewing.

Very nice hike. My starting point is at a locked gate. If you want to start from the beginning then you'll need to go inside the park - which is through a different gate...the main entrance. But the main entrance doesnt open until 0800. So if you want to start earlier then 0800 where we started is a great option. Keep Alltrails going because there are a couple of places where the trail turns and you may not see the trail markers. we followed the red route. Definitely recommend going by the fort (at the end of the hike) to learn of the area's history.

Really great trail. Very well maintained and well blazed. There are a few washouts but they're easy to get around.

Beautiful drive! There were plenty of places to pull over and take photos, flow of traffic going up to the summit was good. When you get to the top parking can be an issue on weekends/busy days. There is a sign we missed on. The way in to the parking lot that said Tennessee-North Carolina boarder. Would’ve been cool to get a photo with that! Bathrooms were nice. Traffic was bad once we got to chimney top picnic area.

Lovely area, but should not be tagged for hiking. The loop is a paved one-way road with some paces to stop off for short hikes. The entire loop was jam packed with cars, many of whom completely ignore the no stopping/idling signs, stopping to look at and take pictures of deer. If you live in the city and never see deer or trees, you’ll think this is heaven. If you live in the mountains full time like we do and have deer pass through your yard multiple times per day, you won’t be impressed.

Drove up from Memphis for a nice day hike. Just over 7 miles on the red trail, or the Historic Trail Route. Great hike with a dog. Southern most side of the red trail is moderate to difficult with some great ridges overlooking the river. Overall a great hike for the day!

Lots of people but worth it! Take time don't just drive the loop. Park the car get out and have fun.

Good relaxing drive. It was closed for a few days because of ice and snow but opened up after a good sunny morning. Drive was easy and pleasant. Cool to see ice cycles forming on some of the rocks. There are some great pull off spots for photo ops.

This road closes intermittently due to ice during winter. Check GSMNP official Twitter @smokiesroadinfo for road statuses in GSMNP.

Awesome place but gave it 3 stars due to too many people

This is a great motor trail. We love to use the pull offs and let our boys play in the creek. It is also great to see how the area is continuing to recover from the fires. Be on the lookout for wildlife and enjoy the peaceful drive.

Nice path! The path on the South side of the main road (321/Lamar Alexander) is more ‘hilly’ than on the North side. There are many driveways and side streets that you’ll cross along the path so, you’ll want to stay alert for traffic. The length of the path is approximately 4.5 miles each way.

This is a must. We didn’t do any trails, just stopped at all of the outlooks. Absolutely breathtaking

We were expecting this to be about a 2 hour activity with driving and some short trails. Took us 5 HOURS to get thru because you can’t pass anyone.. i mean we were stopped and couldn’t move for 20 min because people were amazed at a small turkey! So if i were you, id block out quite a bit of time. The water mill at the end was beautiful. And the views are amazing.

Relaxing drive except in fall. Lost of bear and deer.

We drove this beautiful motor trail in September. Lots of history and hiking trails along the route.

simply outstanding! history, trail, historical places and more. awesome place. you can spend all day here at cades cove and not be bored for one moment. very popular so don't go during the tourist season and give this place a low rating because you don't like being around people.

Take the time to really explore during your visit. There is much to see on the full auto tour of the large battlefield. We really enjoyed all the sites, while learning a lot about this historic location. Do not miss the informative Visitor Center and Museum. We saw lots of wildlife throughout the park, particularly deer and wild turkey.

great road to bike if no cars. Rode it today with cars and it was horrible. Not always enough room to move past stopped/slow moving traffic and the gravel shoulder had lots of stream crossings. Still really beautiful.

Very beautiful drive through the mountains! Saw a herd of elk on the Cherokee end -- a huge herd bull with his harem of cows. Also saw four tom turkeys with extremely long beards. Hope your brakes are in top shape, as the downhill stretches get pretty wild.

Recorded 11 miles at 950 ft elevation gain, so pretty easy! Beautiful moonlight even with the heavy clouds, and kept it comfortably warm. However, bo star gazing
