Beautiful, well kept trail with a number of scenery changes. Lots of beautiful swamp land- some of which you might see gators on. Although its a long trail we were able to find an area to cut the trail in half and get back to the car. Required a little bit of walking on a road but the number of cars were very slim. Probably my favorite trail within 25 minutes of downtown Charleston.

Only did part of it but loved it

Started at the middle trailhead, but took the dirt road down to the landing. Side trail to otherwise inaccessible beach and back through the spur on WMA property was a nice walk. Plenty of water throughout due to proximity of the lakes. Limited parking at trailhead, more at WMA entrance area

Good one with the pup. It rained ALL day yesterday so parts were muddy, but not washed out. Beautiful day for it.

Very nice trail a little muddy in sections. The boardwalks were really slippery

This is probably a nice trail on horseback, but I probably won't return to hike it. There is evidence of heavy horse traffic which has chewed up numerous soft spots and turned them mucky. This was even without recent rain. I suspect the footing is really awful if it has rained in the last few days.

Wonderful trail! Been visiting since I was a kid.

this trail is one of the best maintain trails I have been on. very possibly due to a mountain biking club which we have found does some great maintenance on trails in keeping them clear and clearly marked. it is mostly woodland as described and the open area is probably a mile in length or so across the dam. unfortunately you will see pockets of trash that people had dumped household goods here and there and we even saw an abandoned home. I did record the trail hike and it looks like it took a long time because we tend to investigate things and we did stop for lunch. it was just over two hours from northeast Columbia, a bit longer than we like to travel but it was worth it.

easy quiet trail.

Great place for a tune-up hike, a lot of miles on a small foot print. Start of Main Trail is at the road entrance to the parking lot. Look for the "You are here" map. signage is a bit confusing. Some Trail blazes would be a big help.

This turned out to be a 7.1 mile trail if you take the Whippoorwill Trail and then the Splice Trail to get back to the parking lot.

flooded in one small section, but passable. trail was super easy to follow and brings you up to a few different picnic spots

We did this loop instead of the Knot Trail. I normally MTB this trail and is nice to see things from a different perspective. The trail is an easy hike.

What a fun trail...it’s really only difficult because of the length. Not a lot of views to speak of and no real summit completed, but some waterfalls, peace and quiet and nice trails. I enjoyed it. Mount Mitchell and Craig are next. I keep putting those off.

Easy hike. Saw some wildlife and girls loved every minute.

Nice trail. The park was closed so we just parked where the pavement ends. It was approximately 5.7 miles. Part were very pretty, but one section looked clear cut and was pretty boring. Saw two mountain bikers on the path.

Absolutely awesome for a senic Onewheel ride. We rode from Murrells Inlet to Pawleys Island and back. 16 mile trip on one charge.

Great easy trail that is perfect for hiking solo, with 4 legged friends or biking. I saw kayakers and SUP in the waterway along the trail as well. Tons of great views and well maintained boardwalks.

Good simple trail. I have been a few times now but this time the puppers (and myself) had a bunch of ticks on us, so be vigilant on checking yourself this time of year. There were some high water areas that required some careful footing and use of the well placed logs. It is pretty quiet and doesn't appear to be extensively used, which is great for the doggos. No amazing views put a good system that is decently maintained. All in all a good trail.

Bottom land near sewer plant. Button Bush Spur has observation deck over wetlands.

Really nice short hike with an awesome waterfall at the end. Moderate difficulty for the first half and strenuous for the second. The trail is marked with the Palmetto trail markers until it forks, but there is still a recognizable path. Probably not a bad idea to download the map in case though. I took my lab mix and she handled the hike without a problem.

A few down trees but other than that the trail is in decent shape. If park is closed best place to park is just beyond where pavement ends and trail crosses.

Loved this trail! Beautiful views of the river on the Southside Loop. I can’t wait to come back with my bike. The trail ended up being 7.5 miles instead of 8.5.
