Very easy walk. Paved the whole but it ends at some boulders that provide a great view of the river. It’s also a good swimming and fishing spot.

The trail is moderate for a nice walk through the woods with some rocks to traipse over and around. There are several small streams to cross but overall we did not find the conditions too soggy. The last rain was two days ago. The waterfall was lovely and it had icicles near the top. The water looked tempting for a swim at several places along the trail... if only it were summer!

What a fun trail...it’s really only difficult because of the length. Not a lot of views to speak of and no real summit completed, but some waterfalls, peace and quiet and nice trails. I enjoyed it. Mount Mitchell and Craig are next. I keep putting those off.

Excellent return on investment! Short hike with a lovely waterfall. The hike itself was not terribly long or difficult, just rocky, with only slight elevation change - up on the way to the waterfall, but that made the return trip easier. The area received a lot of tun yesterday, which caused the trail to be sloppy in a lot of areas, but it also increased the volume of the waterfall. A very nice little hike!

Loved the falls! Trail does need some work. Several downed trees that to duck under or go over. Recent rains made the falls spectacular!

truly nice Trail very close to Hilton Head Island. Paved with gravel in certain places and mowed grass and others. The trail identified here is relatively short to the possibility of expanding to over 10 miles. some places have excess water creating muddy conditions but easily overcome.

We hiked from Sparkleberry Landing to Packs Landing, the lake was very high so the trail was flooded with several bridges blown out. We had to hike around several wetlands. The trail was pretty and fairly easy to follow (marked with yellow “i” blazes on trees)

I wouldn’t really call this a hiking trail. I used to take the kids here to slide down the rock. They loved it. It stays packed with kids and people wanting to swim in the spring and summer, so it isn’t very relaxing.

Did this hike today with a slight variation from the AllTrails map. Started at Raven Cliff Falls parking area and hiked clockwise on Coldspring Branch Trail to Jones Gap trail, finishing by taking Rim of the Gap westbound and returning to the parking area via Geer Hwy. Creek crossings on Coldspring Branch were quite dicey due to recent heavy rainfall. Rim of the Gap trail is no joke. Hiking up from Jones Gap is steep but presets no major obsticles. After the junction with the Pinnacle Connector trail, however, it becomes quite a bit more interesting. This section MAY have been closed due to poor conditions at the time I hiked it. Anyway... The trail is very narrow, mostly rock, mud and leaves, and requires a good bit of scrambling. For several water crossings and scrambles I had to toss my poles ahead, as both hands were needed for hanging on to rocks, limbs, and whatever else I could use to stay mostly upright. The trail is mostly easy to follow, but blazes are not consistent, and I imagine with more foliage in summer it could be a challenge. This trail is definitely no joke, far more challenging than anything I have seen hiking in the Smokies. That said, I was absolutely thrilled by it, and if you enjoy a truly challenging, technical hike, this is for you. Note: I would never advocate hiking a trail which has been closed by operating authorities. Always follow the advice of staff and trail operators.

Nice easy trail getting to a beautiful small water fall. You can go a little further and get to a second set of small water falls. A great way to spend a couple of hours. This is a good trail for even an older canine companion.

Nice little loop, good for family and kids - no difficult spot. Saw lots and lots of mushrooms, most puffballs I’ve ever seen.

Awesome trail! Well kept.

Nice walk. Nature trail in spring when birds migrating. Today a couple turtles and a frog.

Our family loves this path to go for a walk but it's not the same as going hiking. It is always very busy with bikes, runners and dogs. Jan 20 - the end of the path is closed for construction at the 3 mile mark. We saw a bald eagle today too!

If you do the lollipop loop to the falls and back it is closer to 2.5 miles. About 150 feet of what you will gain in elevation is in the first half mile but it’s a nice hike. It is a really wide road more then trail until the falls loop part. That part is actually a trail. You can hike longer if you want because when you come off the back side of the loop you can take Vaughn’s Gap trial further down instead of going back to where you parked. It is well marked and the stream follows you along the paths so it’s very pretty. I went on a Saturday and saw only one other person. Will definitely go back. Cell service is really spotty there just FYI.

I would recommend this for someone who is wanting to fish or just have a short hike.

goes around lake pinnacle in the park. one side is relatively flat. the other side has more climbing, steps, crossing of a couple swampy creek areas. i’m currently out of shape and did it, so feel confident most would find easy. beautiful views of table rock. really enjoyed!
