This should be listed as heavily trafficked. Summer evenings and weekends there are a lot of people. Not a good time for riding a bike. There are a lot of people who run and walk in the bike lanes, and they don't follow the rules. Many are inexperienced and don't move over no matter how much you scream "on your left!" All of the path is right next to traffic. However the views are nice, and during less busy times biking is quite nice.

Part of this is a designated bike/walking lane on the main (paved) road that loops around the Presque Isle State Park, and part is a seperate sidewalk-type path. It's wide, flat and easy, and usually well maintained. Fall and spring, and early mornings, are the best times for this trail if you want less obstacles. It's two-way traffic but pleanty wide for passing. Working water fountains and bathrooms along the way between memorial day and labor day. Several rest facilities are open all year.

nice easy trail nice for a easygoing hike

Nice and easy trail with beautiful scenic vistas. Would recommend for beginners. Only downside is half the trail looping back to the parking lot is on the main road and not really a trail at all.

Nice trail for scouts. Easy to learn and teach there.

There are a couple hills that challenge me. But I'm not the strongest biker. I love this trail and do it often. Since your are riding next to traffic, wear your helmet

Aug 11, 2019 Some of this trail appears to be part of an off road vehicle path. I saw multiple signs for West New York Offroad Association. Hiking part of trail not differentiated from offroad trail. Lots of water filled ruts and mud. Didn't really catch a lot of sun which was great. Plenty of shade. I apparently was the first one hiking that day because I was covered in spiderwebs. I could not find an official starting point. I started near the airfield toy plane section. And even at that location there was no sign for a trail. It didn't help that on google maps several roads are missing. Trail forks in multiple locations with no signage, or signage was ambiguous or confusing. Most signs were for WNYOA. I didn't see one marking for the hiking trail. Had to do lots of backtracking. At one portion a beat up trash can marked the trail. What it actually represented I have no idea.

During the summer and fall months I would recommend to anyone

Great afternoon bike ride, right along the lake. Pretty views and a laid back ride. highly recommend for anyone of any skill level.

It was great for my wife, dog, and I to have a nice morning walk. Perfect distance plenty of room. Nice people and nice path to walk on.

Great trail. Well maintained. Plenty of bathrooms and beaches. Great views.

It’s not a trail, it’s literally a road. It’s an easy ride and scenic! My favourite place to ride and the lake is beautiful!

The drive along the byway is beautiful anytime of the year. You get views of the reservoir, the mountains, trees, bridges and beautiful skies. Stop at Red Bridge, Kiasutha, Elijah Run or any of the stops along the road for some scenic views. Jakes Rocks, Rimrock, the Wolf Run Marina all great places to stop and take it all in. Continue on 59 towards Warren and visit Bent Run Falls and the Kinzua Dam. This whole stretch is just full of natural beauty. Spring, summer, fall and winter.

Just did the loop today, this time of year it is best to park at round top park, the best view of the day is there and is a nice sight when you get back. Head West from the restrooms towards the radio tower, a small but steep trail leads down to the main trail, easy to follow from there. 3-4 inches of snow covering ice throughout. Very slippery on the north side, southern route slightly better. Nice hike better in the spring and summer I bet.

Someone complained about poorly marked trails. They are better marked now. Nice easy hike and good for a dog. The park is well maintained and there are new pavilions and a playground. There is a fishing pond as well. Great view of the valley at the top and from the trail at places.

this is a nice relaxing trail rather you ride the road or trail, I like to trail ride in and road ride out.

Hey, it's walking along the side of the highway through the park. There are nice bits to it, but it's rather dull otherwise. I will say the bike and walking lanes are well marked. There's plenty of traffic along this loop, both from bikers and walkers and people just going by in their cars. I started at the boathouse and worked my way around clockwise. Occasionally there's a little bit of an incline here and there, but nothing that will drain you of any real energy. It's really just an endurance of basically every other walk you've probably had in your life expanded into something a little longer. It is good for kids, though, and there are a few playgrounds along the way as well as various pavilions to take a break if you need one.

Nice little hike but half of it is on the road. Therefore I don’t agree with kid friendly.

This is what everyone thinks about when you mention North Park. It is an easy though long-ish walk depending on the speed of your party. The majority of the path is beside a road and fairly removed from the lake or woods. It is also very popular so expect lots of families, joggers, dogs, etc. There are some lovely views, especially of the Boathouse, and it's fun to see all the different people enjoying the park too. It is nice when you want an easy walk to maybe chat with friends but there are better trails if you want a real work out or be more immersed in nature.

Worst trail ever. No trail markers at all. Without our gps we would have been lost. Had to cut across to get back to our vehicle.
