This was a great trail! We brought two dogs which was kinda hard when the trail itself is narrow, so we ended up standing on the edge a lot for runners passing by. But we also went on a Sunday so there was more people then usual.

Great trail although very muddy right now. Beautiful views of the ocean most of the way. A few people hiking but not overly crowded for a sunny Sunday!

Hike on Friday, the 17th. Made it 90% of the way (where you leave the trees). Trail was hard to find, whiteout conditions and it looked like a good way to walk off the edge. Prior to stopping, we were in snow 3-4’. Still a beautiful hike!

Awesome trail! Great views and beautiful Forest. Check it out for sure! 'Twas a bit of mud, but that was just extra fun for me. I guess I never outgrew my fascination with jumping in puddles and playing in the mud. oh well.

It was pretty muddy on the trail today and crazy windy at the top! Definitely recommend boots over sneakers due to the mud, pretty sloppy in spots. We loved the rock face about 2 miles up to stop for a snack before the windy top!!! The trail was steep but 9 year old was able to do it just fine!

I always come up when it Is snowing. So I never had the privilege to actually walk the trail. During the snow season it’s fun. You can rent tubes and go tubing .For the expectation during fishing season I did some fishing once .They also serve homemade food in their restaurant . Great place been coming here for years.

Don’t do this hike without snowshoes if you plan on doing the loop. 2.5 feet of snow where the map shows the highest elevation.

Amazing snowshoe hike! Make sure to come early. The parking fills up quickly. We actually received a $80 fine today as we parked alongside the road. The fine was totally worth it though. There are a lot of trails that lead up to the summit. After 1338 ft elevation in 3.1 miles we got all the way on the top. The views were absolutely stunning. The hike is definitely strenuous, but doable and so worth it.

It was a nice hike. Weather was fantastic for January, the initial incline was muddy and slick because it was on the northwest shady side, but on top was dry and easy walking. views were great of the cascades and the cove. I was surprised to see three other pairs of people out hiking. I had my 14yo son with me and he had no trouble hiking the trail.

Great hike, parking lot was very busy mid-day but we managed to wait for a spot. Crampons are really useful in spots but it’s all packed snow, not too icy. Beautiful winter hiking.

First “50” mile hike I’ve done it was really hard but the view and experience was amazing. The map was difficult to follow but me and my buddy did really well on staying safe. If you are hammock camping just keep looking for spots and yes it is very scary hammocking on dead trees!

I went in January on a dry day. It’s been wet all week and this trail was in good shape. Some slightly muddy areas and I did need to watch my steps. Probably wouldn’t run it this time of year but really In Great shape for January. I plan on going back to hit the connecting trails.

Great trail for all levels of snowshoer. Several loop options. We only went to Lower Lake, walked around it, and retuned. Most people were wearing snowshoes, but a few were just in hiking boots. Trail is packed down enough to make it hikeable without snowshoes but be careful stepping off trail.

Moving from Colorado to Salem soon. This was our checking out Salem trip. What a beautiful hike not so far away from the city. Nature at it best! There were not so many people when we started at around 8. We did around 9.5 miles to compete the loop. Will definitely go again and again!

super cute quick workout type of trail. did this in about 30 minutes with the dogs. incline was a nice leg burner.. would be a good hike to shakedown gear and get used to uneven terrain. lots of roots along trail. as I got back to my car I passed a guy headed in to do the loop on his bike.

Short with awesome views. If anything just stop by for the pic. * No parking fee (that I know of). * GPS works. * Vault toilet.

Awesome!! Practical tips: Shoes spikes recommended, Restroom was locked, and traffic going into on 26, traffic lines at 8am well after Sandy. Go early as possible.
