Great trail! Tough first mile and a half. Can become confusing when you reach the first opening after the initial climb. The climb is worth the incredible views at the 2 viewing platforms closer to the end of hike. We picked a cold day so it was super icy!!!!! Parking was super easy. Not 100% clear where the trail starts but it is basically behind the restrooms... seems a little odd at first but it is a well maintained trail after the first 20 yards or so.

This was an excellent hike! The trail is beautifully kept up and all shaded in the trees. It is wintertime so we had some pretty views once we got toward the top. The views may be much different during the summer. The trail is a gradual climb and a pretty solid workout. I took my hiking poles and they were helpful. I highly recommend this trail. Very serene hearing the river flow as I wound my way up the mountain. Not heavily trafficked either, which was definitely nice.

Very cool! Loops around part of Falls Lake and a cute little stream with a waterfall. Also attached to many other trails. A few houses can be seen but it doesn’t take away from the experience.

Has the biggest jumps I have seen in the area. Not to mention the amount of jumps there are as well probably 35 jumps throughout this whole entire trail some are hidden pretty well.

I really enjoyed the beauty of this trail. Well-maintained and well marked. The lake views were beautiful as well as all the birch trees. The downside to this trail as it’s rather close to the back of several houses and at times felt almost as if I were trespassing even though this is a public trail. I was even startled by loudly barking dogs in the back of one person‘s property. That kind of took away from the nature feel of the trail. Overall it is an easy trail to hike and very pretty views. Also note the trail head is between new soccer field 12 and 13.

Relatively easy trail even with limited mobility; however, I was unable to make it to the last viewpoint due to the uneven terrain. Beautiful waterfall.

Great hike and a wonderful workout. Never get tired of the views from the lookout tower.

I added Ruben Mountain on the return portion of my Tory’s Den to Moore’s Knob hike. The combination made for a great workout (11.2 miles and just over 2,000 feet of elevation gain). Given that this is also a bridle trail (keep your eyes open), it is wide and the inclines are gradual. Most of the elevation change is on the way up on the Tory’s Den Trail. There are not many unobstructed views, but it helped that all the leaves were on the ground.

Luckily the parkway was open! Easy to follow trail, minimal elevation gain til the end, with nice flat sections in between. Great view!

Love this park!! Wonderful trails to 'get lost' on and explore!!

This is a wonderful place to visit and see all the beautiful flowers and plants!! Shame on those that are rating this place low because they can't walk their dogs in this park. There are many other places to walk dogs.

HIKE AT YOUR OWN RISK Walking thru and for one there are multiple split offs. There is a SNAKE study going on in the area and there are multiple snake spots for the study. Like 15+ all 5ft away from each other. Animal bones everywhere about .5 mile in! These animals also had sharp teeth, so whatever got them, is good at doing it. There is a cool old house that is still intact and well kept up. This trail just gave me a bad vibe.

If you head toward Roxboro road from the park, it’s a large swath of land with tractors working on maybe something big? So muddy I almost lost my boots. The path isn’t passable closer to the river. If you head the other way, it’s better although still further from the river than I would like. After about a mile of wide newly grassed area, the trail goes through the woods again and is nice and peaceful.

Cool views of the creek from the bluff; lots of stairs to get to the bluff!

Not an enjoyable hike for me. Part of the trail was closed due to wash out. The back half of the trail runs alongside the back of a neighborhood which wasn’t the park environment I was looking for. There is a old house that the state plans to renovate at some point. Once the house is complete, it may be worth visiting again.

From the Reasonover rd parking area, followed the Airstrip trail to the Falls. Some muddy spots but not as bad as I expected. Instead of returning on same path I went to upper falls overlook. Moderate climb to a disappointing view. Retuned on Corn Mill, Laurel Ridge, Cart trail and finished on Mine mountain trail to the parking lot. Just shy of a 7 mile loop. Would classify the entire hike as moderate. Some steep climbs and descents. 3 hours including a brief stop at base of Bridal Veil Falls.

Beautiful with many waterfalls and large rapids at the bottom. We started at Queen’s Lake and went downhill. Didn’t see 1 person the whole way down and back up. Gravel FS rd well maintained minus 1 recent landslide.

Great section of the AT. Trail is well marked throughout and Max Patch is worth the trek.

1-15-2020 went for a run today and someone has torn up the trail riding a dirt bike (motorcycle) on the trail in the wet weather. It is really sad they can't read and tear up a good hiking trail with four wheelers and dirt bikes. Take pictures or video if you see them.
