Great hike and a wonderful workout. Never get tired of the views from the lookout tower.

Luckily the parkway was open! Easy to follow trail, minimal elevation gain til the end, with nice flat sections in between. Great view!

Love this park!! Wonderful trails to 'get lost' on and explore!!

This is a wonderful place to visit and see all the beautiful flowers and plants!! Shame on those that are rating this place low because they can't walk their dogs in this park. There are many other places to walk dogs.

HIKE AT YOUR OWN RISK Walking thru and for one there are multiple split offs. There is a SNAKE study going on in the area and there are multiple snake spots for the study. Like 15+ all 5ft away from each other. Animal bones everywhere about .5 mile in! These animals also had sharp teeth, so whatever got them, is good at doing it. There is a cool old house that is still intact and well kept up. This trail just gave me a bad vibe.

If you head toward Roxboro road from the park, it’s a large swath of land with tractors working on maybe something big? So muddy I almost lost my boots. The path isn’t passable closer to the river. If you head the other way, it’s better although still further from the river than I would like. After about a mile of wide newly grassed area, the trail goes through the woods again and is nice and peaceful.

Cool views of the creek from the bluff; lots of stairs to get to the bluff!

Not an enjoyable hike for me. Part of the trail was closed due to wash out. The back half of the trail runs alongside the back of a neighborhood which wasn’t the park environment I was looking for. There is a old house that the state plans to renovate at some point. Once the house is complete, it may be worth visiting again.

I should have checked the website first. All trails closed due to conditions.

From the Reasonover rd parking area, followed the Airstrip trail to the Falls. Some muddy spots but not as bad as I expected. Instead of returning on same path I went to upper falls overlook. Moderate climb to a disappointing view. Retuned on Corn Mill, Laurel Ridge, Cart trail and finished on Mine mountain trail to the parking lot. Just shy of a 7 mile loop. Would classify the entire hike as moderate. Some steep climbs and descents. 3 hours including a brief stop at base of Bridal Veil Falls.

Beautiful with many waterfalls and large rapids at the bottom. We started at Queen’s Lake and went downhill. Didn’t see 1 person the whole way down and back up. Gravel FS rd well maintained minus 1 recent landslide.

Great section of the AT. Trail is well marked throughout and Max Patch is worth the trek.

1-15-2020 went for a run today and someone has torn up the trail riding a dirt bike (motorcycle) on the trail in the wet weather. It is really sad they can't read and tear up a good hiking trail with four wheelers and dirt bikes. Take pictures or video if you see them.

busy trail. paved and good for running

While it’s not the best trail I’ve ever been on “hiking” wise, I could see it being a great mountain biking trail or even an outdoor running trail. Lots of elevation in the start, not to bad to walk up but I imagine bikers are feeling the pain. While you ride or run you can enjoy the soothing sounds of I40 because it’s all you see and hear. Once at the top though, it really opens up and is a lot quieter. I’d probably come back but mostly for exercise, I just prefer quiet and quaint over bustling interstate.

We started the “Toby Creek Greenway” Trail at the University of North Carolina, next to Target. This is a fairly new portion of the Mecklenburg County Greenway System. This trail is recorded as 2 miles in length by the County but we extended our hike into the Autumwood neighborhood. The Toby Creek Greenway has several outlets that empty into several Charlotte communities. This is a well cared for asphalt trail with boardwalks. There is a new addition to the trail starting at Rocky River Road West (see pic) that extends the trail approximately another 1/8 mile. Although the trail itself is clear you’ll get the feeling that you’re in a nature preserve, due to the overgrown foliage. We went North but you can go the other way into the UNC Campus and continue on the trail. The trail is super wide and allows room for biking, running, dog walking and other activities. The trail is maintained by Mecklenburg County government. Nice, lightly traveled urban hike in Charlotte. Come out and explore !

unbelievable falls! easy trail, nice overlook at the end on past the falls. you can look at the actual falls from a overlook but be careful, do not sit on ledge as you could plummet to your death!

Beautiful!! The walk to the Tower is straight up.. It's paved the entire way... Easy trail to a Beautiful Location.. Well worth the pull of the Mountains.

Very easy hike with incredible views. Well worth it.

VERY EASY SIMPLY TRAIL TO A NICE WATER FALL BUT IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS A 3 FALL HIKE ADD PARTS DEEP CREEK HORSE TRAIL AND DEEP CREEK TRAIL INTO ONE BIG LOOP AND NOT ONLY WILL YOU SEE JUNEY FALLS YOU WILL SEE TOM BRANCH FALLS & INDIAN CREEK FALLS.

The state road was closed about 4 miles from trailhead.

This Trail is currently closed due to park expansion. 1/13/2020 Check Yadkin County Parks and Recreation website for updates.

Did this trail after heavy rains and it was awesome. Cold water to wade in, steep and tough ascent once you reach the base of the falls. We saw many snakes and had a copperhead right off the trail so be on the lookout for them.

We took our 6 & 7 yr old and they were able to complete it with no problems. We started at the Upper Trailhead Parking Lot which takes you to the falls much sooner. However, whichever trailhead you choose to begin at (Upper or Lower), you will encounter many, many stairs. Great trail and well marked!

East orange loop to blue

Easy short walk. Nice for some exercise. Generally very pretty. Today they are letting water out of the lake. The mountains are still beautiful. At least two bathrooms on the walk. Stroller friendly. Mainly local people out for a walk.
