If you want to see the falls up close and personal, you can go off trail and walk right next to the water! Very easy walk and so beautiful for a local place!

Today was not the best day to hike this route as the weather changed dramatically with blowing snow and poor visibility. Recent warm weather followed by freezing and fresh snow on top of ice made it slippery in some places and people who are prone to slip easily should be extremely careful.

Absolutely gorgeous today, 18 degrees, a little wind and snowing slightly. Trail had some good powder snow, view was limited at top by low hanging clouds. Was an absolutely gorgeous day.

Owned by the dump..... The Dump (garbage facility) is contractually obligated to provide this “nature facility”. Their website offers you to check out their birds of prey... they keep those birds at the dump to keep seagulls away. Meanwhile the town of Seneca Falls chokes on the fumes of the spray they pour over the garbage heap to keep the garbage odor down. Pretty sure this “park” is meant to corral potential runoff maybe into our beautiful Finger Lakes? Hopefully the photos I posted can assist you in skipping over this “nature” preserve. SAD TO SEE THIS ON ALLTRAILS!!!!!!!

I did the Spruceton Horse Trail (blue) -> Hunter Mountain Trail (yellow) -> Devil's Path (red) -> Diamond Notch (blue) back to the Spruceton parking area. WARNING: Going in this direction will yield an intersection with a blue trail going to Diamond Notch (left) or the Spruceton (right). Spikes and poles are all you need. No shoes required. Cabin and tower were closed.

Out and back, easy with crampons or good hiking boots. Only a little bit of snow and mostly ice. Waterfall is beautiful and easy to get to.

Awesome trail with great views. Many resting spots and scenic spots to take in the beauty. Great place for a picnic or quick snack. Absolutely gorgeous.

Melting snow and rain made the trail wet but also comfortable for hiking up with waterproof shoes. It was an easy and enjoyable hike on this day because of mild temperature, calm winds, and misty air. View from firetower was completely obscured because of the mist but being in the mist on top of the mountain is a great feeling by itself.

Would highly recommend going up the shorter steeper part and coming down the back side. Going down the tiny rock slide and then the steep roped section was very tricky. There are a TON of intersecting trails so it is very easy to get lost. Unique view up top, but you can hear traffic. Would not go by the pond again because the trail leads right to the school.

Snowy and icy after the first 1.8 or so to the top. Spikes helped but saw lots without them too! So manageable with out. Beautiful day!!!
