Did this trail on 1/5/2020 Road to parking lot closed due to ice. Had to wear micro spikes from the moment we parked until we returned. Nice easy trail. Great views from fire tower stairs. Fire tower cabin closed in winter

Ice is starting to fall from the warm weather so use caution.

A good trail, but there is no parking where its beginning. In addition, you must follow a regular road instead of a trail. But the views are nice

You really have to look for the trail it's hidden among the trees. Google maps will bring you to the back of a building

Side walk around the Mirror Lake nice walk, dog friendly. Also went to Cobble Hill, I had to stay with the dogs right before the top.. due to a rope climb. He went up for pictures.

Great trail for beginners. Not really any beginning parts that are steep. Kind of steep at the end. We did this in 2 hours. Annoying road to get to the trailhead. All around great hike. We did it in 1-2 inches of ice and 1-3 inches of snow. If that’s the situation you are in then I would recommend micro spikes and crampons

Great hike. Some snow and ice on the trail especially toward top but not difficult. Dirt road got icy so parked .25 miles from trailhead but still only took 1 1/2 hours to complete.

great easy hike. beautiful views from the top. worth the climb....

This is a great hike for all ages. if there are spots at the trail head, it is a short 1.4 miles to the summit. the trail is relatively rocky with a lot of roots. it is a fairly easy ascent with one stretch that is only a little steep. I did this with a 5 and 11 year old with no issues. Even though the top of the fire tower was closed, the view was still great.

Hike starts from the end of parking lot and marked by a yellow signs. This is relatively well trafficked trail and easy to do in a couple of hours for fantastic 360 views of the catskills and beyond.

First, if you park your vehicle on the right and find yourself hiking on a gravel path that will fit a vehicle.... Stop. Go back to your car and drive another 2 miles to the real trailhead on the left. You’re welcome. No place to camp that I could find. I hiked up at 1AM 2 days after a rainfall. Creeks become challenging and swift. Trail is well marked. Gets steep towards the end.

11.6.19. I added a loop to this. Lovely trail, starting from the lot by the lake heading SW, then NW, and back around NE toward the lake. Some majestic woodlands on the white and green trails. My stats as a guide for this combo: Distance: 4.2 miles Elevation Gain: 630 feet Moving Time: 1:36:37

awesome and pretty easy, it gets aggressive but worth it
