It was absolutely beautiful but a bit crowded for my taste. It was a weekday too so I think I had expectations of it being a little more solitary. But the lake itself and the beautiful scenery was totally worth it. Very easy trail too, nice loop around dirt walking path.

Not only do you need a permit, but to get one you need to live in either, Victor, East Bloomfield or West Bloomfield.

Nice loop trail in East Greenbush town park. A little muddy due to the recent warm weather but nice walk by a stream if you have boots on. Seemed to be dog friendly trails.

A good trail, but there is no parking where its beginning. In addition, you must follow a regular road instead of a trail. But the views are nice

We enjoyed this trail on 1/11 when temperature soared into the 60's. Based on some of the previous reviews, it looks like a lot of clearing and trail marking has been done. We lost the trail at one point, but as many said, with the lake as your marker, it's hard to get lost. There were about 3 spots where the trail was pretty muddy, but with rocks and nearby boards that others had placed, it was easy to navigate through. The only part I didn't like was walking along White Pond Road. You are literally in the street dodging cars zooming by. Walkers need to be extremely careful. But it took us about 90 minutes to make the complete loop. I'd definitely do it again.

Double perimeter. Cold but dry, no wind.

Loved this hike. It was a beautiful January 1st hike with the trees dusted with snow. Very little incline so it’s good for anybody. The abandoned fireplace where a house once stood at the edge of the pond is really neat. I will def be back to check this out in the summer and perhaps take a swim in the lake.

Very difficult place to find. I agree with the sketchiness behind the gas station. I didn't even try to attempt this trail. I ended up going to Chapman park.

FYI- the directions for park and portage from North Point Road IS NOT ACCURATE. North Point is entirely private property now with no parking facilities and no launch area. There is an old Jeep Trail to hike, not drive, from Raquette Village.
