Light snow covered in late Jan 2020, nice n quick morning walk

Beautiful long hike. We went clockwise, starting on the yellow mullica river trail through the historic village, hiking through old growth forest for several miles before reaching some amazing campsites. Continuing on past the campsites for a few miles, take the green connector trail East for a mile to connect with the pink batona trail that leads back to the parking lot. Great for a long day home with no elevation and gorgeous scenery! The start of the trail was a bit confusing to find as the parking lot is the starting point for several different pathways including a mountain bike trail

Great trail even for the middle of January. Well maintained and pretty easy to follow except for the one turn I missed, but the trail I took led back to the correct trail. There is a nice outlook but it is a ways in from the sign. it's worth it though. made for a nice spot for lunch.

One of my favorite places for an nice easy hike. Love it there

Beautiful preserve with several unique features, such as cedar swamps, spungs, both dense and open forests, etc. Make an 8.1+ mile loop easily. Great day hike.

This trail offers good footing on an easy to walk single track trail. it is predominantly for mountain biking and for that we would have loved it. As a hiking trail is lacks scenery (as compared to other local trails) and does not offer much challenge in terms of elevation gain. We hiked it on a snowy day so the even footing was a blessing. The trail circles a lake that is visible for a short period of time but it is lovely when you can see it. No blazes so navigation was totally via All Trails.

Easy “hike” at best. Minimal challenge/incline. Pretty trail, well marked and paved. Great for a run, biking, and pet friendly

This is a nice trail if you can find it. Once you do, it is a nice trail. The roads leading to this (both sides ) are full of pot holes so be mindful of your speed. The water views are very nice. We saw some birds. We went on January 12 2020

I completed this entire hike couple of years ago, took me 5 Sundays to complete. The canal and towpath are longer than what it says on here. Maybe closer to 50ish miles. The towpath continues to Frenchtown even after the mouth of the canal on the delaware side. It's a easy trail, pretty flat, like most Of the state! It goes from New Brunswick to Trenton and up to Bull's island on the Delaware river on the Western side of NJ. I walked from New Brunswick to Bulls Island. Thankfully I was able to arrange transportation back those days For the most part, it's a great walk a very beautiful. Can get a little boring at some parts but, there are some cool historical areas and information along the trail. where do you go from Princeton to Trenton it gets a little less scenic and the canal you don't see at points for it goes though private property. The towpath continues on however, in Trenton, where it's best to reroute to Caldwater Park. Then you can go back on the towpath and the canal to Bull's island. Along the way is Washington crossing State Park and Lambertville-New Hope. When you get away from skank Trenton, it becomes more scenic again!

Easy to follow, well-maintain trail. A little muddy, but overall it was a simple and fun Sunday afternoon hike.

Can get pretty muddy at parts. You need to be vigilant of bikers because the trail can be narrow at points. Pet friendly.

I hiked this today with a friend and it was a moderate difficulty, I would even say for an avid hiker it is on the easier side. Very little elevation change but can be rocky and muddy at times. Despite it being winter, although today was an unseasonal 70 degrees, and all the trees being dead, it was still a beautiful hike. No vistas to speak of really, just a walk through the woods. I could see this being very pretty in the Spring or Fall. Pretty clearly marked although we did get off trail for a minute somehow. It was easy to get back on. All said and done it was a solid hike -- great for if you just want to get out in the woods and don't want to overexert yourself. Took us just shy of 3 hours for a 6 mile total. Oh and plenty of parking plus a portajohn in the lot. I gave it three stars because there are definitely more beautiful hikes out there with better scenery, but this one is very much worth a visit.
