Excellent hike. Trails are packed snow with some ice. Spikes are a must have. Views along the ridge were incredible. Extremely windy at each peak. I’d recommend goggles across the ridge. Having extra layers and being prepared for any weather will make this hike unforgettable.

Report: 20-30 degrees. Only needed hat gloves and coat above treeline. Blue skies. The 2 mile ridge trail has been scoured down to bare rock by the winds. 30-50 MPH headwind along the ridge. Ice bridges were solid over the water. No blow downs. Trails are incredible; picture a city sidewalk and now put a thick but firm oriental carpet on it and now have it on a gentle incline and then walk up it. Very easy and comfortable. Wore microspikes the whole hike but not sure even needed them.

A hidden gem south of the Whites that has a great deal of variety if you hike this loop. From logging / snowmobile road to rock scrambles and ledges, this route has it all. Today's hike required at minimum micro spikes. I hiked it clockwise and once you start the ascent up North Mount the snow got deeper and slushier (ranged from a trace to 6" of slush). At points I felt snowshoes would be good, but too many rock scrambles or exposed rocks. A longer tooth trail crampon may have been ideal in this section. Took me 5 hours to do this exact route, but note the start/end of this route is at least a half mile from the parking lot, so add some time and distance for this.

Hiked with Dan. Not the most exciting hike. Gentle rolling hills. Looks like a nice place for the locals to walk dogs or trail run. Fueled by Litherman’s Limited and Checkmate Pizza.

fun, quick hike if you're in the neighborhood. trail is easy to follow in the snow if it is packed down (which it was). be aware of people snowmobiling on the logging road (you cross over and hike on sometimes). the view from the top was covered on my trip, otherwise would've been scenic.

This was a great trail! Used snow shoes and I would highly recommend!

Winter hike is great, but bring spikes and poles!

Beautiful winter hike. The trail is snow covered with a few icy spots. We had snowshoes, but micro spikes would have been sufficient.

1/19- Winter wonderland! If you’re the first one breaking trail through the snow check in on this app once in a while- we almost missed the fork to the right for smarts brook trail. Was deep enough we needed snow shoes but probably packed down enough by now to get away with ankle boots- esp with gaiters.

Went out to walk the dogs and got a beautiful view on the pond. Frigid today so Bundle up!

Snowshoed up Little Haystack, then booted across Franconia Ridge and down Lafayette. Trail up and down under tree line was lots of good snow, could have either booted or snowshoed down. Was 7.5 hrs car to car. Saw a number of folks going up Haystack side but everyone appeared to turn around once they got there rather than cross the ridge. Didn’t see anyone between Little Haystack and about 1.5 miles to the bottom. Most of the snow on the ridge was blown away with a few large snowdrifts - mostly rocky with mixed textured (and surprisingly grippy) ice. Windy and cold - water supply froze heading into the wind on our way down Lafayette - with some snowfall to keep the views hidden. Didn’t run into any serious problems though warm gloves / hats / layers and ski goggles were a must.

**Big water pools in trail at M17 on Hamblett Nash Trail.** Nice trails, aside from additional smaller wet areas. Someone else poorly reviewed the locals, which I thought was funny until an (albeit, nice) police officer indicated I couldn’t park on the side of the quiet, plowed, highly visible road when the downhill parking area hadn’t been plowed yet after a (6”) snow storm; but when I came off the trail, the lot had been plowed, so maybe he put a call in. So we’re cool. And there were some friendly people on the trail, so the locals are fine. ;)

Wide open field for one half, then through woods on bank of Lamprey River for the other half. Nice trail, not spectacular.

Cherry Mnt Rd Trail off RT 115 to Mnt Martha. 6 inches of powder over icy spots. Snowmobiles active near top. Great views at the top. Sorry for the missing data. I started the app. a little late in the beginning and after leaving Mt. Martha. We also had to stop about 1/3 down because someone hurt themselves.

Accidentally left the gps on once I left. Managed this trail in regular hiking boots after 5” of snow the night prior. Easy trail for the dog.
