A hidden gem south of the Whites that has a great deal of variety if you hike this loop. From logging / snowmobile road to rock scrambles and ledges, this route has it all. Today's hike required at minimum micro spikes. I hiked it clockwise and once you start the ascent up North Mount the snow got deeper and slushier (ranged from a trace to 6" of slush). At points I felt snowshoes would be good, but too many rock scrambles or exposed rocks. A longer tooth trail crampon may have been ideal in this section. Took me 5 hours to do this exact route, but note the start/end of this route is at least a half mile from the parking lot, so add some time and distance for this.

Wide open field for one half, then through woods on bank of Lamprey River for the other half. Nice trail, not spectacular.

This is a great trail for all ages. First time going and there was lots of snow due to the snowstorm, but a fun trail none the less. There are a few trails you can take, Beaver was the one we completed at this time. Everything is marked well, parking is easy. The dog enjoyed running around. We saw two people cross-country skiing. Looks beautiful with the fresh snow. Careful on pond some areas are not frozen over so watch little ones and dogs if they attempt to run. Will easily add this to the weekly to do list.

Was a very pretty winter walk. Took the dog who loved it. People used snowshoes and skis bit I was fine in spikes. Very easy walk with not much elevation gain.

This was a great easy hike. We ran into maybe three other people during our hike. Great for dogs to explore. Marked well. Red Trail - coming back up from the river/waterfall was icy and steep. Going down some spots were iced over and a little challenging to walk down. Should have worn spikes on my shoes. Other than that, very enjoyable. The waterfall was nice, and seeing the ice on the rocks was pretty.

Nice 3 mile hike through the woods and along a small pond with some small streams. We did this on a Sunday afternoon and only ran into one other person on the trails. Because there are so many trails in Beaver Brook, it was a bit challenging at times to stay on this trail without keeping the AllTrails map up, but if you did get off trail it was pretty easy to just catch another trail and cut back across to hookup to this one again. Trail is pretty easy - just a few small ups and downs. It was hard packed snow and some ice the day we went. Bare boots would probably be okay, but microspikes definitely made the going a little easier.Pretty hike and the dogs loved it!

Nice wide and fairly flat trail meandering through the woods by some ponds. Mostly packed snow. Used micro-spikes but not sure it was necessary today.

Untraveled since the last snowfall. Quiet. Great water views along the river. Lookouts. Sunset.

Great for an easy walk or run. Nice waterfall and there are a few unpaved paths with nice scenery.

Had a really lovely walk. Nice peaceful scenery and an easy walk. It is very icy in spots will wear some over the shoe crampons next time. Love that dogs can go too but owners please please please pick up after your pups poops!! Lots of side stepping was involved.

GPS watch says 12.49 miles

Lovely Christmas morning hike. Easy to follow and well maintained trail, with a good amount of foot traffic (considering the holiday). Bring your spikes as there’s also a good amount of ice patches to walk through.

I did not like this trail I found numerous men having promiscuous sex in broad daylight. Especially in the late spring and summer months. Used condoms were all over the place. I have been propositioned a couple times. I am a gay dude but that's not why I hike and trail so I stopped going.
