Went up on 1/19/2020 which was after snowfall the day before. Some parts of the trail had at least 10 inches. We went up the logging road to avoid the water crossing. The trail is a real workout in snowshoes but would be pretty easy with no snow. Gradual incline 50% of the trail until it gets much steeper. We got a view from the south aide of the mountain but it was so windy and snowy at the top that we did not get a view of the north side.

Did this trail today. Two days ago we got 6 inches of snow. Trail was already packed down.Nice local hike.

Took our new rescue Jasper here for a little bit of a test to see how he’d do on some different terrain. It was snowy but I put some mushers wax on his feet and he was golden. Nice close short walk around the place and that was enough for me to know he’ll do good elsewhere. Definitely will come back here and can’t wait to see what it’s like in the spring and summer months! Snowy, a little slippery on some inclines but that’s to be expected. A couple new bridges were great. Saw one bridge on a different trail that looked busted and non crossable. Trails aren’t really marked but there are some names at the beginning of each one. It’s not hard to navigate as the paths were well packed down.

Wonderful hike. Very challenging coming down without slipping. The hike up was tough but it was manageable (despite snowfall the night before). Cold weather can be problematic so make sure you check the forecast and bundle up. Summited 01/18/20.

Beautiful winter hike. The trail is snow covered with a few icy spots. We had snowshoes, but micro spikes would have been sufficient.

Due to time restraint I had to cut out Jackson and Webster. Headed up the Crawford trail which was fairly steep but manageable. I chose to go up the trail to the hut, which had about a foot of snow on it. Probably combination of snowfall, plus what ever had blown in or fell off the trees. This was the tough part because it was heavy and you sunk in pretty good in some spots. The trail up form the hut to Pierce is very steep. Manageable with snowshoes but this also was poorly packed down. My legs felt it for sure!! I then went down the Crawford connecting trail back to the base. Beautiful, bluebird day. Windy up top but what else would you expect. Beautiful views and scenery throughout. Populated but not overly so

Did today and looped over to Liberty. Half way up trail packed down. Then the big surprise had to Bush whack the last mile wicked tough snow totals from past week about 8 inches so warning to anyone doing in next few days make sure u take snow shoes to make it or u msybe turning back. Happy trails the MAILMAN

Clear day, no wind and temps in the high teens. Easy to find the trailhead and parking was convenient and safe. Dressed in layers and kept warm. Great hike, wore micro spikes but yak trax would have been fine, I was preparing for ice but the trail was not too icy under the snow. Trails had about 6" fresh snow and the hike was great. Other people snow shoed and there were also ski tracks on the trail so this trail is great for many varieties of enjoyment. The views are amazing from Washington over to the Sandwich Valley. The hike was perfect mileage for a winter hike without having to drive past N. Conway.

Great trail for a day hike have gone to many times. The waterfall is great to slide down for anybody hiking in the summer.

1/19- Winter wonderland! If you’re the first one breaking trail through the snow check in on this app once in a while- we almost missed the fork to the right for smarts brook trail. Was deep enough we needed snow shoes but probably packed down enough by now to get away with ankle boots- esp with gaiters.

This is beautiful trail to hike with snow A blue bird day fresh trails so fun !

Went out to walk the dogs and got a beautiful view on the pond. Frigid today so Bundle up!

Definitely need snowshoes for this trail. It is not packed down. When you get to the split where the ridge trail forks to the right, the snow is 2 feet deep in parts. The trail was easy to follow and well marked with bright orange blazes on the trees. Definitely a great workout in the snow for myself and dog. Got to a point half mile from the top where it was just too steep and snow too deep to continue with my dog to the summit so we decided it best to turn around. Very pretty woods.

This land is part of the Franconia Notch State Park and located in the Mittersill area. There is a blue blazed trail that apparently leads down to the Bridesmaid falls but I couldn't find that. Kept traversing the mountain, which is adjacent to Cannon Mtn and eventually came upon some downhill skiers who were taking advantage of the new snow in the gladed area. Did a big loop after crossing a wide stream then returned via a better path (but overgrown and not maintained much really). Kind of cool with the new snowfall but I'll need to explore this area again once the snow melts.

Packed snow on the majority of the trail today with a few icy spots. Stream crossings were not an issue. Used snowshoes the entire hike. Not many views but still an interesting and challenging hike.

Parked in Greeley Ponds lot, wasn't plowed so be careful. Now with another 10" of snow yesterday maybe someone will plow it out. Nice approach trail with several small stream crossings that were mostly rock solid with all the cold weather. The upper part of the East Osceola trail was washed off with much exposed ice. Folks coming down were struggling and going up wasn't so easy either. The summit was wonderful, about 10DegF or so but lite winds and several lookout spots. Nice frosty White Mtns!!

overall a good hike. I had several equipment failures which I'll teach me to buy cheap equipment. overall the trail was great but I definitely need better gear if I'm going to do more winter hiking.

This was the first of the 4,000 footers I've hiked in recent years. Went on 1/19 after about 6 inches of snow had fallen the night before and there was continual snowfall throughout the day. Snow shoes were essential to get go to the summit. Unfortanely the visibility was extremely low at the summit. It took our group about 5 1/2 hours from the Waterville Ski Resort to the top and back. We started our hike at 12:30 and descended the final half mile or so in darkness. I have this hike a 4 out of 5 because even in good weather the summit has limited views. Also the hike has few interesting natural features along the way. The viewpoint is simply a side passage onto the ski path. While this was harder than anticipated, it was a solid first hike and a good challenge. I would only recommend it as a good entry point to the 48 challenge.

hiked this trail 1/18/2020 4 of us broke trail in 4" snow. I really liked the solitude of this trail. although the blazes were faded and required alittle guess work to stay on trail, it wasn't hard to follow. as we became closer to the top, the trail narrowed as it winded around the mountain. the views on top were excellent and I would definitely hike this trail again.

Great quick winter hike on a bright blue cold day. Trail mostly packed down until winter short cut to Gunstock summit. Used micro spikes on winter short cut and on the way down. Nice to be at summit before any skiers and walk in the freshly groomed corduroy.
