This is an excellent hike, with several trails combined for a loop that features a variety of terrain and difficulty. There are some steep ascents topped off by expansive views of the Missouri River, the valley, and the surrounding wooded hills.

Nice little hike - couldn't follow the AllTrails route exactly, they must have mowed a new path since it was initially mapped, but that's alright. Worth visiting especially if you live in the area.

Great trail! Very good if you’re looking for an easy stroll with some hills and beautiful scenery. When I went it was a little muddy but not too bad and there wasn’t any traffic.

Decent trails, some small sections become tough, but only last 10-20 yards. Thunderstorm in the morning made trails a bit muddy, but still firm to walk on. walked off the trail for one downhill section to avoid mud. Well kept facilities, education/information at stops along the trails. Ranger asked conditions of trails when we came back as well.

We took tail head 10 because the head by the caves was closed. Starts off very steep and narrow eventually opens up. A few parts where it’s over grown and flooded but it’s just that time of the year. It’s a very fun hike and worth the 8 dollars to get into the park

Considering what it costs to camp here, there is no reason that it should be this poorly maintained. Good distance and cool views but crappy marking, plenty of blow-downs, and garbage everywhere. I must have looked like a nut swinging my trekking poles out front of me like some sort of reverse backstroke, but with all the dang spiderwebs, I didn't have much choice. All in all, it was a decent trip, certainly better than nothing.

Wilderness Park is my favorite trail system in Lincoln. The park is huge! At over 1,400 acres, you will never run out of new places to explore. The park is primarily unkept wilderness, and although it is wedged between a 4 lane highway and a set of railroad tracks, it is easy to forget you are only 5 miles south of downtown Lincoln. The trail system winds through dense woods, and oak grooves along the banks of the Salt Creek. The dirt paths are marked for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and multi use. If biking a mountain bike would be preferable due to the occasional large rock or tree root in the trail. Unfortunately many of the bridges linking sections of park together are out. Until they are replaced you may have to use Jamaica North trail to access certain areas of the park. Fall and early spring are my favorite times of year to visit Wilderness park. In the summer things can be a bit overgrown and the ticks and mosquitoes can be a little much to handle. Wilderness park is a great place to fell like you left town without actually leaving. Perfect for catching a glimpse of some wildlife and getting away from it all for a while.

dogs loved the trail. alot of sitting water so the mosquitos were rampant but a very relaxing hike besides that

I’ve never had this issue yet at Wilderness but I had to leave as the mosquitoes were too bad.

Had some very beautiful scenic spots to see and will definitely test you on the way up. A little muddy. Worst part was that the trail is not groomed nice...myself and the dogs had to go through some brush and we all came out with ticks on us. Pulled about 5 off of me, and 10 off my two dogs so far.

Not worth it for me. Trail was impossible to find and almost not walkable. Not kid friendly.

one of my favorite hikes in nebraska. decent elevation gains when trying to prepare for harder hikes abroad. lots of mosquitos in the summer months. i made a video hiking this trail a few years ago to preview it. check it out here https://youtu.be/cWs-EiGKvys

Not bad for Nebraska. Some decent inclines, decent views of the river, and trail is in good condition. Take bug spray!

The description on the State park map doesn't match some of the trails. We hiked the trail 5 and 5a portion of the Hardwood trail. Lots of up and down action but the trail is very eroded from equestrian use and not well marked. I would not recommend hiking this trail in wet weather since there is no gravel and the soil can be very slippery.

Quiet place. There is no Richardson Nebraska. It is East of Dwight, Nebraska. A small village in the Bohemian Alps, Butler county in Nebraska.

Wonderful trail system in (practically) my backyard! Lots of mosquitoes and ticks right now (July) but worth the annoyance.

Pretty suburban park. Up there and back. Be sure and lock up truck and trailer.

This is my favorite trail to run, make sure you wear bug spray, LOTS of mosquitos and ticks(if you beer off trail) When I've brought my dog home he's had a couple ticks even with advantix, so if I go to this trail I usually don't bring my dog. It's a good loop trail about 2.2 miles and you can switch directions and change it up.
