These trails are surprisingly good, with varied elevation and decent river views. It's most crowded right around the falls, but traffic drops off pretty sharply once you get past them, and especially after you cross over Owen Landing. At times there can be some bike/horse traffic on this portion of the trails, but there are enough side paths and offshoots to avoid too many collisions, and there usually aren't too many hikers crowding around. It's true that many of these trails aren't marked, but they all eventually lead to the same place, or back to the main trail. It's not overly difficult to find your way back, even without a map. The trails do tend to be muddy though, especially after Owen Landing. If you're trying to hike outside of Omaha and don't have time to go to Indian Cave (south) or Ponca (north), this is about the best you can do.

I hiked this trail after the floods of 2019, so there was a lot of restoration still in need of completion. The trail was very scenic, however, at a lot of places, and has potential to be even better once regrowth and improvements come to fruition. I hope to see the trail expanded further north, but it will have to be delayed following further flood mitigation.

Sad to see that for some reason Nebraska Game and Parks has allowed the mountain bikers to overrun the place. trail offshoots everywhere. obstacles and mounds intentionally added to existing trails. just seems like they've given the trails over to them and hikers be damned.

Overall, the hike is a lot of fun. There a ton of different paths you can venture to and lots of natural beauty to enjoy. The teepee are is really cool and the Lincoln Journal tower is worth the climb to the top to be reward with awesome views of the park, the Platte River, and the Missouri River. This is definitely a moderate hike in some areas not just because of distance, but because there are steep ascents and descents in areas where the path is overgrown or not very well maintained. The are close to 0 trail markers and the map provided by the park can be challenging to follow if you have a challenged sense of direction. Despite all that, this is a hike worth doing. The park is beautiful, the falls are lovely, and it provided enough of a challenge to make it exciting. We saw a few people but it was not overly crowded. If you can end you hike by the creek where you will be rewarded with beautiful views and nice areas to fish, stroll, or simply sit and enjoy some time with nature.

Platte River SP has a pretty good system of trails. I read the prior reviews regarding the trails not being marked, and was hesitant. Actually, that was part of the fun. You start out and go whatever way you want. If you as you have GPS, you can get back to where you started. The trail paths are well used and I was surprised with the amount of elevation change. Overall a great fall hike.

Perfect day to take off hiking boots and put on sneakers. This is a beautiful trail around the lake and even saw deer that we could almost walk up to. 5 stars for a paved trail that is in excellent condition and beautiful ! 10/17/2019

This trail can be used for all things. It is made of gravel. Approximately there is a road every 13 blocks along the trail. It goes through cornfields but is surrounds by trees. It is great for walking dogs, running, and biking. Recommend this trail to anyone that can use it! Love it!

The trail isn't well marked. Even though I had a map I still got lost. Other than that this up and down trail is very beautiful. It is up and down and around. It was a good trail though. It was very muddy when I did it.

Trail conditions were good, couple stumps sticking out in a few spots that were a bypass that could be taken down lower or out so people don’t trip when the leaves fall. Other than that everything was great.

I've lived in the area my whole life and had no idea this wildlife management area existed. Really cool to discover a place like this so close to home. Was fortunate enough to get there two days before they closed it down for archery hunting for the rest of the year. From the trail head, you head East down a relatively unkept vehicle trail (I almost didn't go that way) until you get to another vehicle barrier where the grass is mowed and walking gets much easier following the vehicle path. I'll be going back again for sure.

Decent trails, some small sections become tough, but only last 10-20 yards. Thunderstorm in the morning made trails a bit muddy, but still firm to walk on. walked off the trail for one downhill section to avoid mud. Well kept facilities, education/information at stops along the trails. Ranger asked conditions of trails when we came back as well.

Heavy Heat with the history.

Great all paved trail for a long stroller run. Some good shade along the trail as well.
