One of the nicest trails I've ever done in any National Park. Spectacular mountain views and plenty of wildflowers, if you go at the right time of year. I went at the end of August, and saw plenty. It's defiantly worth making this part of a backpacking itinerary.

Did this trail on a backpacking trip from Bowman Lake to Boulder Pass, to Lake Francis and back out to Bowman Lake. Lake Francis' backcountry campground is really nice, but there are only two spots available. One of the lesser known areas of the park, but it is certainly worth a consideration for a backpacking trip.

CAR SWAP! Looking to make my fifth trek on this amazing trail this summer in late July-Early August. Shoot me an email if you're interested in doing a car swap during that time! jess.l.lawrence@outlook.com

Breath taking views. If you start from Logan pass it’s a climb down and you can finish off by resting by the glacier water run off.

The trail is still very accessible as of dec 29, and is one beautiful hike. The drive up to the first lake is awesome going through the valley. Defiantly an easy hike that is well worth it!

Most beautiful trail ever in the summer. It is a lung buster at the top headed towards the Spanish peaks.

Nice walk through a winter wonderland. A little slippery but worth it for the views of the Ponderosa Pines and the beautiful river. Great place to hug a tree and kiss your sweetie.

Beautiful 23 miles of views. The first 8 miles are through a woody area but ends at the actual start of the trail near a pretty lake. It took us 11h45 minutes. Didn’t see any bears or mountain lions. Never felt unsafe and I’m terrified of heights. Only one super steel hill (like a double black diamond steep if you ski) to get down. HIGHLY suggest to start at Dailey Pass, it’s more rewarding and you don’t have to hike up the steep hill.

Beautiful views of the valley! You do walk through private land with the possibility of seeing cows so keep the leash handy if your bringing dogs. Wearing orange this time of year is probably a good idea here, saw a few hunters in the area.

An amazing trail with a amazing views and wild life. We did an extension to this loop that came out over 70 miles with about 14,000 feet of climbing in 5 days but is absolutely manageable especially if you start hiking fairly early in the day. Cannot recommend enough just be wary a moose my try to snuggle with you and a couple of the campsites

Spent two nights camping at the lake. Lots of blow downs on the trail and at the lake but the lake itself is really pretty. Hiked to fish lake during the day as a day hike which was a highlight, though scrambling back up the trail through all of the downed trees was tedious. Went from dry to hail to snow our first night up and became even prettier with the snow covered logs in the lake. Trail was easy to follow even in snow. Until the temp drops below 25 or so you get to listen to shotgun blast cracking from the frozen cliffs as they cycle through thaw. Well organized, nice bar to elevate your food without having to find a tree and the privvy was top notch. Most folks seemed to think they could come up in tennis shoes and late in the day. It’s gonna take some time...

Made it almost the whole way without snow on the trail. A little snow packed down at the end, but nothing you’d need snowshoes for. Started the hike at 12:30 and made it out with plenty of sunlight. Saw mountain goats too!

You seriously rated 3 stars because the weather was bad and you weren’t prepared!?!?!?? So that makes the hike 3 star hike?!?!!?? Stop doing reviews. Period.

11/10/19 Great hike. I moved a couple medium sized logs off in last 1/3 of trail. Road driving in wasnt so bad; little soft and slushy in some spots. Trail had only couple of spots with a little snow.

Little rough with the snow but still very enjoyable! Half way to island lake the snow is about 1.5 ft deep but easily maneuverable!

Still a good amount of people on the trail! It is still very accessible as of nov 2! Love doing this hike!

The road to access the NAPA Point Trailhead is across from the Goat Creek State Forest offices on Hwy 83 South. The road is not properly signed and is difficult to find where to go. Recommend going to the office at Goat Creek and getting good directions. The last 5 miles of the road is in very poor and Rocky condition.
